I went in to Octopus Tatoo to have my very first tatoo at age 50, I was very sared and apprehensive. Jim was very sweet and fiull of knowledge. I am in love with my atoo's Jims place is very bright cheery and etremely clean.1 month later i went back for my third tatoo. Jim plays the best music and is very interesting, Conversation was wonderful. I would never go any place else , Jim Thanks!

Jim is amazing! He took a tattoo I already had and added to it, making it more interesting and really come to life. He spent a long time working with me to create the right image I was hoping for. He is incredibly creative and a very talented artist. We had fun chatting and laughing the whole time, and it was a really relaxed experience. My tattoo looks great and I made a new friend.

Got my first tattoo done by Jim, and I will definitely be going back for more. First off my tattoo looks amazing. I brought in my paintball jersey to get part of it tattooed on my leg, and it looks EXACTLY like the jersey, I am extremely happy with it and Jim is an amazing artist. Second of all the shop is very very very clean, its clean enough you could preform surgery in there. Jim is also extremely nice and easy to talk to, which makes getting a tattoo that much easier. THANKS JIM!

My son told me about Jim Knoeppel at Octopus Ink. Who knew you could get a cool tattoo in Lake Oswego! He has a reassuring way if you are getting your first tattoo. I now have four, all from Jim, and am planning on more! Even though I live in NE PDX now I will still drive back to Lake O.

Jim is a wonderful talented artist and all around nice guy and even though he wants to do what you ask him to do, he is professional enough to make suggestions for the better. He knows that every tattoo is a reflection of his artistry and he wants you to be able to show off your tattoo with pride.

His shop is immaculate and you can be assured of a sterile environment. By the way, you'll be listening to some great music while he's working.

Jim gave me my first tattoo and I am in love with it! I could not have asked for anything better. Almost all of his work is one of a kind and ALL of his work is class A, top of line, absolutely fabulous. He is a great artist, all of his work that he's done and all of the sketches that you see when you walk into his shop show that. His shop is clean and spotless with great natural lighting, and it's a very comfortable environment. Jim is friendly and an easy person to be around. I plan on going back to him as long as he's still tattooing, and I would suggest to everyone that I know to do the same.

I had an idea for my third tattoo that was extremely detailed and required some superfine line work. I'd checked out Jim's website, and it looked like he might be up to the challenge - and he was, no doubt about it. My tat looks amazing!



The studio is immaculate, well-lit with natural light, and comfortable. I was more comfortable there than I have been in either of the other tattoo parlors I've been in.



If I decide upon another tattoo - which I probably will! - I won't hesitate to go back to Octopus Ink.

If you're ever looking to get a tattoo, I wouldn't recomend any other place than Octopus Ink. Jim is the most incredible artist, which is obvious the second you walk into his studio and see his sketches, and that talent reflects, of course, in the tattoos. Jim has no employees and he takes great pride in each of his tattoos. Each one is masterfully done, and beautiful. I got my first tattoo from Jim, and I couldn't be happier with it. The studio is clean, the art everywhere is amazing, and it was obvious that he knew exactly what he was doing. It was a great expierience and I am definitely going to go back for more.

Jim at Octopus Ink is a fantastic artist, and incredibly talented when it comes to tattooing. He's done two tattoos on me so far, and is currently working on finishing my third. He's super friendly, and his establishment is clean and comfortable, very bright and colorful. I'd recommend Octopus Ink Tattoo for anybody looking to get some ink.

Jim is amazing! A lot of my friends and even some of their family has gone to him, and he always produced top quality work! I always suggest him when people are thinking about getting tattoos. He is super friendly, clean, and extremely talented! Definitely the best experience I have ever had.

I had Jim at Octopus Ink draw a portrait like picture of my niece holding my pup. I showed him a picture from my cell phone and he spent some time drawing an excellent picture of her. When I saw it I thought something was a little bit off, knowing that it would be hard to encompass how she looked in the cell phone photo. Jim took even more of his own time to draw the perfect picture of her. I took one look at his final product and knew I was ready to have him do the tattoo. Now a year later I still love my tattoo. Check Jim's shop out, you will love it I promise. There is amazing art work in there, all of which Jim has drawn. Also he is good looking ha.

Jim is an artist first and a tattoo artist second. This is why I chose him to work on my sleeve. His shop has art every where, all of which he has drawn or painted. It truly takes someone like Jim to be able to turn tattoos into art. I continue to use him for my sleeve and would recommend him over any other tattoo artist I have ever used before. Oh and did I mention he loves Guinness :)

Don't let the Lake Oswego location fool you. This place is the real deal. Jim is a true artist on a level that transcends just tattoos, and a very personable dude that will work with you and treat you right to get your ink dialed in properly. I love the spot too because it's not like many tattoo joints where you are in a cubicle with 5 other people getting inked around you and the artist chatting with his friends in the process etc. It's straight 1 on 1, and the studio is like a jived out doctor's office with comforting tunes of whatever sort suits you at the time. I live 2000 miles away now and it sucks because I want to get tattoos but I don't feel comfortable doing so anywhere else.

I was recommended to Jim by a friend. When I went in I knew the general idea of what I wanted but Jim helped me work out the details and I am so happy with my tat!!! it is so me. would hands down recommend going to jim for any tat first time or any time big or small. if i ever get another i will def go back to Octopus ink.

I found Jim by fate,by going to a place I had work done at,but the lady was no longer there.He took a Horrible Tattoo and covered it with a Beautiful piece of work,that was 4 tattoos ago (50 + hours) and Jim is the ONLY 1 who will do any work on me.He listens to your ideas and there is nothing but perfection from him.He's easy to work with,his shop is clean and easy to find and even on a bus line.I highly recommend Jim for any INK !!!

I have been tattooed several times by Jim at Octopus Ink Tattoo. Jim is extremely professional and has hospital grade cleanliness in his studio! He is very creative and has a great eye for perfection ... I do and will definitely recommend Octopus Ink to anyone I know who is looking for new ink!!!
