Sensor Developments designs and manufacturers strain-gaged force and torque sensors, load cells, transducers, instruments and complete test systems. Its sensors are primarily used to evaluate vehicle dynamics, steering, suspensions, brakes, tires and wheels, but are also used for a variety of applications in the aerospace, medical, nuclear and agricultural industries. In addition, the company s accredited laboratory provides ISO-17025 certified calibrations for any force and torque sensors. Founded in 1976, Sensor Development employs approximately 20 people at its 27,000-square-foot facility in Orion, Mich. SDI has appeared on the Michigan 100 list three times as one of the fastest growing companies in the state.
