Design One Inc. completed a multi-faceted project at our home this summer including landscaping, a paver patio, drainage system, and overall design - all while managing the coordination of events with our sod, irrigation and deck companies. We were very impressed with each aspect of the project from the design phase, to implementation, to follow up. The quality of work was exactly what we expected and they were very accommodating to changes throughout the project. We found the owner to be highly knowledgeable and felt truly valued as his customers. The designer and project coordinator went above and beyond throughout the entire project to ensure our happiness; communicating the next day's events, walking the property with us each day, and meeting multiple times at a moment's notice. The work crew were some of the hardest workers we have seen and it was evident that they took great pride in their work. After spending months searching for a company that could perform some of the tasks that we needed, we found what we consider a "diamond in the rough," providing all of these services and more. They treated us as though we were their most valued customer from start to finish! Knowing what we know now, it would be foolish to consider any other landscape contractor. We will be using Design One Inc. for future projects!

Design One did some landscaping work at our home. We were very pleased with them, from the Owner, Senior Designer, Job site supervisor and his efficient, hard working crew. They did a super job. The plant materials are excellent and they look great. Our designer was very much in tune with our requirements and after some discussion came up with a great plan. The owner made a courtesy call to our home and was very pleasant and accommodating. We plan to use Design One for another project.

All I can say is wow! These reviews are spot on! I could go on and on about the owner of this company. But rather than write a long drawn out review that no one will read, I'll get right to the point. We had some work done by this company years ago. They put in a garden out front and a front walkway. High prices. Average work at best! The walkway was not done well at all and started heavily sagging just over a year later. This year, we wanted to put a row trees in to give us some privacy from some undesirable neighbors. We stupidly turned to this company again, figuring how bad could they mess up a row of trees. We were ready to sign the contract (again over priced, as far as we were concerned), when we were told that it would cost us an extra $120.00 or so to use a credit card. We disagreed with this policy (it was stated on the contract) and the person handling our account turned us over to the owner of the company on the phone to talk with him. He was incredibly rude over the phone. I later emailed him and told him that we would take our business elsewhere and let him know that we did not approve of his attitude. He proceeded to lash out at us and attack us via email. Never have I been treated with such disrespect from an owner or employee of any business. I've dealt with many bad businesses and had disputes in the past but never have I experienced such blatant disrespect and disregard for us as customers (returning customers). His Credit card policy wasn't the problem. I would've been happy to try another landscaper because I disagreed with this policy. What was disturbing, was the way he treated us as customers and as people, without the tiniest bit of respect. I would strongly recommend staying as far away from this company as you possibly can! His attitude is consistent with the other reviews that you will read on the site. Do yourself a favor and don't get near this company.

Design one tried to charge me for materials that were not used on my job. I had to argue to get the charges corrected. Design One was dishonest and untrustworthy.

Owner is very rude and unprofessional. Lawned looked worst on the street only to have them tell me to water more. After the fall application I was then told my lawn had a fungus which it should have been treated for. I was promised a free fungal treatment in spring. When talking to the owner recently, he said "No way was he giving me a free treatment" and then was given a long lecture. When trying to interject I was scolded like a child for interrupting. He then proceeded to hang up. He obviously is not big on customer satisfaction, nor backing his work or workers. I have a feeling if I were a man, the conversation would have been a little more civil.

We hired Design 1 to replace our lawn after we had our septic field replaced. They used road grade for top soil and two years later our lawn is literally crap. They said we did not water enough but we were watering it daily. They never came out to follow upand refused to take our calls after we complained. We tried to pland a tre a year after they placed the "topsoil" and it was like digging through concrete. I would never use them again or recommend to anyone.
