Vi and Islander Roofing

I would not hire them again or recommend them.

There were multiple issues with my metal roofing job and I had to find them and point them out to them.

There were multiple leaks, around chimney and vent pipes that took several attempts to fix. I had to tell them to put cushions under their metal ladder to keep from scratching the new roof.

They didn’t install a skylight they were supposed to and then when they did it leaked.

They didn’t install flashing where the wood shed roof met the garage wall so it leaked, so then they installed the flashing on top of the metal roof and caulked it to keep from leaking.

They didn’t clean up properly, 6 months later and I’m still finding metal pieces in the yard.

His crew broke a glass top table and didn’t tell me, I had to find it on my own.

According to my neighbors, his crew didn’t show up until 10am or later and then left before 5pm. They started in early August 2011 and didn’t finish until late November 2011, nearly 4 months. Vi said his crew was there Monday through Friday, while the neighbors said they weren’t. I believe the neighbors over Vi and that it took till November argues that they weren’t showing up daily.

On at least one occasion Vi himself didn’t show up and didn’t bother calling saying he couldn’t make it when he said he would.

I don’t think Vi met a single deadline that he himself set.

It took several months and about 6 phone calls to get my house keys back. Vi never returned any of my calls. I ultimately had to find his home address and just show up asking for my house keys back. I did get my keys back, but I would never hire him again or recommend him to anyone.

These people deserve NO STAR but there wasn't such an option. They're unprofessional and untrustworthy. Don't have work done by them! They don"t know what they're doing. Check out the WA State Labor & Industries website on them. Looks like they have had serious problems with homeowners.

I have to give them a 1 star because I can't give 0 star. It took them 1 week to finish the job that should only take (and was promised) 3 days. The owner avoided our phone calls when the project ran long. They never showed up on time and did not clean our gutters when it was finished. We didn't find out about the debris in our gutters until it rained a few weeks later. You get what you pay for, but they are not worth the frustration!
