I live in West Covina and Athens has been our trash and recycling company for many years now. I have had the same wonderful driver for a long time. They are on time, courteous and when a had a whole lot of bulkies droped in front of my house a couple of months ago they picked them all up for me at no charge....I love Athens

with out any doubt Athens Services provide the best trash collection that I ever had...I will highly recommend their services...here at West Hollywood where I do live they provide the trash and recycle service and I will said their workers crew are very professional and friendly .....good job Athens...keep doing the best job...

Drivers knowingly pass by homes without picking up. I waved a truck down TWICE and driver indicated he would return to pick up. That was 6 days ago, 4 phone calls, 2 emails and 1 complaint to City Manager, and still the bin has not been picked up. Tomorrow is another pick up day so Athens asked City Manager to allow for pick up then. Outrageous! My bin is full and needs room for new material. I asked customer service rep, Lethe, at 336-3636 for a refund and was told none would be issued because blue bins are freebies, Public Works rep, Sharon at 932-5543 says this is untrue, that the City of Monrovia has a contract with Athens for greens, blue bin recycling, and black bin waste. Also, Athens does not keep truthful logs of complaints. I've phoned in 4 times and was called by a rep but Public Works said Athens reported that no reports are on file. Residents are urged to keep written logs. Also, I asked Athens to please not lump my recycling with trash and was LAUGHED at by Lethe. RUDE!!!

My understanding is that Athens has the best recycling of all the garbage companies and I don't have to sort recyclables myself. The truck has never arrived later than an hour and a half after the scheduled pick up time. The drivers don't leave debris around and are courteous. Athens gave me a better rate than the company I had been with (BFI) for 39 years and who had stopped picking up my trash on my scheduled day. For six months I had to call BFI every week to get them to pick up my trash. Sometimes they were two days late leaving my garbage at the curb for roving dogs and coyotes to go through. I am so pleased with Athen's that I'm going to try and get my neighbors to switch.
