I scheduled a 2nd opinion and went in and started talking about the cataract surgery that I am having with another MD at the end of the month and Dr. Cook became very irate and was yelling at me and calling me names and walked out of the appt saying "pay me $400 and I will listen to your questions all day". He is very unstable, and I am never going back. He has no respect for women and treated me like I was not even a human being. Apparently he was mad because I scheduled surgery with another MD. Bizarre and he needs to retire ASAP. Don't take your loved ones to this MD he is all about the money and shows little to no caring about his patients unless he is making the big bucks. He bragged to me also that he could buy as many steak dinners as he wanted to that is how much money his has so he can pick and choose who he wants to do surgery on. He is a very bad person.
Dr. Ma at Scripps Clinic in San Diego is a caring and knowledgeable, well respected local opthalmologist who will treat your loved one's with the utmost respect and take the time to answer all questions. I have also seen Dr. Afshari at UCSD Shiley Eye Center, another very honest and trustworthy eye surgeon who really cares about you and your loved ones.
