I was refered to United Marine Underwriters by my dad. He has been insured with United Marine for serveral years. He told me that when the marina had a fire and his boat was damaged, they were great to work with. I got three quotes online and found United Marine's to be the easiest. Based on my dad's and my experience I recommend them. Happy Boating

I being doing business with Tom and Becky for 5 years. Always great service. My premium is competitive.

I have been using them for well over 10 years and have never had a problem... Until I made a claim.



Claim made in March/April of 2010. It's January, 2011 and it remains unresolved as my boat sits at the repair center collecting storage fees!



Spoke with the president of the company (since we are 10 months in with nothing done) and he said he would personally look into it.



Suddenly the claim rep starts returning our calls but during the last conversation, rep says the claim is denied. Then in the same breathe says an offer of $1,600 is "on the table". So is it denied or is it not denied?



In any event, the estimate to repair is over $5,000!



They have no problem cashing your premium checks however they have a HUGE problem honoring claims.



Now, our claim rep hangs up on us when we call. Now we have to get lawyers involved.



BUYER BEWARE!!!

Not Happy. This company would only insure my boat for the actual purchase price,not actual value or replacement value. I shopped for a good boat at a price I could afford. Now UNITED wants to penalize me for my efforts. What good is boat insurance if it dosen't replace your boat? That's what insurance is for, to "REPLACE" your loss. Thay wanted to insure it for less than half the value of the boat.
