Founded in 1956, Brechan Enterprises Inc. (BEI) is a family owned company that provides self-performed excavation, site work, concrete placement, paving and carpentry services to the citizens of Kodiak. It has maintained a batch plant that produces concrete, asphalt and aggregate. Located in Kodiak, Alaska, the company also has a vertical construction department and a civil construction department. Some of its completed projects include Pasagshak, Kodiak Community Health Center, Kodiak Airport Re-Surfacing, North Star Elementary School, Rocket Motor Storage Facility and St. Herman Harbor Boat Lift Facility. Kodiak Chamber of Commerce has awarded Brechan Enterprises Inc. with the Kodiak Business of the Year award in 2009.
