Let me start by saying I've worked with the public when I was younger, I know how to run a business and talk to people. These people need to get it together. My husband and I needed a van for our vacation because we were taking extended family with us. We reserved our van with Budget through Priceline with a special of 77.00 for one week worth of insurance. The fine print said if your were paying with a debit instead of credit card they would need a 200.00 deposit, fine. A couple of days before vacation my husband calls to make sure everything is in motion just to find out they will be running a credit check my husband will not pass. We find a solution to the problem, my mother offers to use her credit card and we will pay her cash. The morning they go to pick up the van Budget they inform my husband he can't use the 77.00 insurance and will have to purchase insurance at full price over 200.00! Not wanting to ruin or stress out about vacation he agrees and ask what about our 77.00 through Priceline, they told him and my mother it would be NO ISSUE for him to call and get a refund since the insurance wasn't used. So we go on vacation and return, the next day we call Priceline to find out they CAN'T refund us because every time they call Budget they are telling them not to refund it because we got our reservation. So we paid over 300.00 for two sets of insurance and weren't able to get a refund on either one because Budget apparently either lies to their customers or can't get their act together! My husband called Budget after a two hour call with Priceline trying to get it straightened out, the guy he spoke with told him he wasn't there the day my husband was and that he needs to call back and talk to the owner the next day! REALLY is that how you run a business? You don't have records of everything? I would think looking and seeing we paid for insurance twice would be enough! Don't mess with these people, either they are just not capable of running a business properly or they are lying. Either way not good!
