The legacy of Carney McNicholas stems from over 100 years of industry experience when it was founded in 1906. J.V. McNicholas of Youngstown, Ohio borrowed one-hundred dollars from his mother and began hauling travelers’ baggage and personal belongings from the city’s railroad stations with a horse and buggy. The business now continues with a close family friend and colleague of the McNicholas and Carney families. Dennis Cleland began working for Carney McNicholas, Inc. in 1980. He and his brother-in-law, David Yeager, purchased the company in 2018, transforming into Diversified Moving & Storage, LLC. This family-oriented company has grown to not only operate as full-service household movers, but also to specialize in library and corporate relocation. The goal of Diversified Moving remains the same as J.V. McNicholas’s over 100 years ago: to continue the legacy of the family business by meeting our customers’ specifications and exceeding their expectations, resulting in long-lasting relationships.
