This was extremely hard for me to do as I’m also a business owner, and understand the importance of positive reviews, but paying for something and not getting what was promised does not sit well with me at all.

I hired Santiago to build a large patio, retaining wall, and fire pit at my home. At first everything was good, we agreed on a price that seemed fair, once the initial 50% deposit was given, it was all down hill from there. Santiago told me 2 weeks at most to build what we agreed on, one thing I made sure to ask was if the construction area was going to be cleaned up and new grass planted afterward, I was told yes, fresh top soil would be put down along with grass seed. I could not stress enough that I did not want this project to be left incomplete, as the total project was very expensive.

Santiago would set dates when he would start and would not show up, I would give him extra time before calling and when I finally called he would tell me another date which he failed to keep. This 2 week project dragged out for 8 full weeks (and it’s been 21 weeks total since initial deposit to order material)

At the very end, I made the mistake of paying the final balance before ALL work was properly completed. Here it is September 16th and my yard is a complete disaster, parts of the patio are damaged because of the heavy rain and yard not being completed, and the sand between the retaining wall and pavers has completely washed away and also needs to be professionally repaired. I have to now hire someone new to pay for the repairs of my yard. This was a very expensive lesson to have learned.
