If I could give this motel zero stars I would! My husband and I have been travelling all over the US and Canada for 5 weeks with our dogs. Thus we know the first question must be - is this motel pet friendly. We saw the Blue Bird Motel and read the very mixed reviews but thought we would check it out and see if they accepted dogs. My husband went in the office and asked if it was pet friendly. The owner and son were present and he was told it was. Then he asked if we could see the room. The son of the owner showed us the room (he walked by our vehicle and saw one of our dogs with her head out the window) - it was decent enough for the price and apparently pet friendly so we decided to stay. Approximately 40 minutes later the father walked by us as we were standing outside our room with the door open and told us no smoking in the room. Clearly we understood that as we were outside. I was back in WI and decided to stay at my favorite motel by the lac Michigan. I stayed there for 4 weeks and I liked the price I got per week (vs. per day). I always enjoy the big backyard with the beautiful view on the lake and the friendly owners. It's one of the rare places (if not the only one) around this area (lake reception) that has WIFI. Even when I have to work in Kenosha, I feel like I am on vacation at the Bluebird. I am always relaxed there.

The Bluebird Motel is my favorite motel in the Kenosha/Racine area. This family owned motel offers all kind of conveniences: from free WIFI to the beautiful view of the Lake Michigan. Working on contract, on and off, for the last 12 years I have stayed there over 2 years. I find the Bluebird to be a down to earth motel, run by hard working people and at a more than very reasonable price for the area and the comfort.
