You Medical is taking on some great programs, while not hiding their beliefs.

I work with refugees, teen moms and am a foster mom. I've seen YouMedical work with prostitutes, a teen refugee mom, several of the girls living with us (through foster care) and several refugee women from my English classes. The girls and women feel so loved and treated well by staff the nurses.

I've gotten to know the staff from being in there supporting the girls I work with and they are there to help and love.

One of the nurses (RN, BSN) took the time with me to help me know more about what to expect (including cultural challenges) with the teen refugee mom living with us as she gave birth and the baby and her were with us for the first months of his life.

I was there again last week with another young woman in our care who had been living off of "sugar daddies" off n on for the last several years.

She needed community service hours for probation so she got the tour and filled out paperwork.

The staff at You Medical treated her so well. After the tour one of the nurses talked to her about some specific struggles and gave practical real world tips and health and diet advice. She spent a good amount of her time just talking with her. The young lady is interested in phlebotomy. The nurse also sat down with her and looked at various programs with her.

In the car ride home the young lady said "she made me feel so good about myself, when she said I was perfect the way I am."

This was one of the first times I had heard her say something positive about herself.

Being there helped us begin to communicate more about the risks of sugar daddies and how children in the fostercare system make up a large percent of those who end up in abusive situations and being trafficked.

You Medical staff gave her confidence and helped her to feel worthy of love. They also encouraged her to make safe, informed decisions and to understand risks and options.

We went on a tour while there and while in their ultrasound room I learned that Planned Parenthood often sends clients to You Medical because they (pp) doesn't have time to work one on one with clients.

We also saw their boutique and all of the items that parents can earn from the time they find out they are pregnant until the child is one year. They can earn diapers, and wipes, and maternity and baby clothes, and strollers, and all sorts of things.

"All medical services are provided by medical professionals" as stated on their website and from what I have seen this has been true.
