The Kennesaw Police Department preserves peace, enforces laws and ordinances, protects residents lives and property and arrests the violators of law. It also prevents and deters crime. The department maintains an operations division that is comprised of patrol, investigations and special operation units. The Kennesaw Police Department also has a support services division that consists of records, accreditation, training, community affairs, evidence and warrant units. In addition, it operates a corrections division that maintains a jail and houses pretrial, inmates awaiting sentencing, and county- and state-sentenced prisoners. Located in Kennesaw, Ga., the Kennesaw Police Department organizes a variety of community outreach and neighborhood watch programs.
