This was the most beautiful pl...

This was the most beautiful place to hold our wedding at. Ciria the owner is the sweetest person, we gave her only a months notices. She gave us a package that was in our budget and helped out in every way to make this day Our Dream Wedding we had both hoped for.Our wedding was small with 30 guest it was a morning service. Everything was ready and set to go. Our wedding started at 9:30am and lasted till 11:30am. Your photographer isn't limited to where they can take pictures. The grounds are so well kept and maintained. The background adds so much more depth to your wedding photographs.. this is a place will captured great moments on print to be cherished for a lifetime Our family and friends loved Kemah Gardens layout and would refer it to many of their friends as well. Not only can it host a wedding it is also a bed and breakfast. I hope it will be around for many many years I would love to go back in 25yrs and do it all over again.

Kemah Gardens Wedding!

I got married this past June at Kemah Gardens. The wedding was amazing and I loved the scenery, especially since we had an evening wedding we got to use lights on the trees which were really pretty and elegant looking. Ciria was very helpful with anything we needed. One thing I loved about Kemah Gardens was the fact that we could pick and choose what other venders we wanted as far as the music, catering, flowers, etc. and that can be very helpful when you are on a budget. I wanted a simple wedding and that is exactly what we got at the price we wanted and it was still gorgeous! We also used the house to get ready that afternoon, the girls were down in the bridal suite, which is plenty big, and the guys stayed upstairs enjoying their alcohol! Not once did we have an issue of seeing each other before it started. We also used the valet service they offer and that was apparently a big hit. Everyone commented on how easy and helpful they were. Overall, I rate my wedding at Kemah Gardens a 10, I couldn’t have had a better day, except maybe if it weren’t so hot but that’s what I get for picking a mid June wedding!

Don't Do It!

The unprofessionalism of this place is UNBELIEVABLE! These people do NOT know what hospitality means.

A bed and breakfast is supposed to be relaxing, but this place made you feel like you were staying at your in-laws. It was nice enough, but you felt like you had to ask permission for everything. There wasn't even soap or shampoo provided for the shower.

I don't know how they stay in business, because they do not know the first thing about service or running a B&B. You'd be better off staying at Motel 6!

Kemah Gardens is a guesthouse where breakfast is not provided when the house is rented in conjunction with a wedding/weekend event. Kitchen privileges are limited to refrigerator and microwave oven (for the convenience of overnight guests), and is explained to the bride & groom or event representative at the time of booking the house/gardens for their event. Agreement by the bride and groom for the rooms to be rented by their friends was very last minute (3 days before the wedding), thus I feel we just had a little bit of a miscommunication. The bathroom where the soiled towel was found is also the bathroom that is available to guests during the event, which on this day, they had their rehearsal, which they were allowed to use the house at no extra charge. The lack of soap/shampoo was an honest oversight of the cleaning staff, had they asked for both, it would have been provided as all other rooms had soap/shampoo. The mother of groom and one of their friends who catered the event were very rude to one of the owners. Although the wedding party was informed that all food had to be delivered in "ready to serve" condition and that "onsite" washing of dishes/silverware/stemware is not allowed, food was being prepared in the laundry room and dishes were being washed by the teenage grandchildren of one of the caterers. I sincerely apologize for the misunderstandings and would be glad to provide references of the 15 other couples that celebrated their weddings at Kemah Gardens during 2009.

If you could give 0 stars, I would!

First off, I would like to say that the site/house are beautiful and the beds are comfortable, but this is not a "bed and Breakfast"! Saying at Kemah Gardens is like staying at a friend's house. There is no soap or shampoo in the bathroom. Our bed was not made at all by the staff and when we asked about it, they said they only change the sheets every 3 days. I understand not changing the sheets, but I have never been anywhere where they did not make the bed. The "private bathroom" for the Peace Room is in the hall with no direct door (this is not explained on the website or when you make the reservation). We were not told that our room key locked the bathroom door until I asked for a new towel because there was grease all over one of ours when we returned to the hotel. The "breakfast" consists of some yogurt, a stale muffin, and an apple. Even though there was a full kitchen, we were instructed to use only the microwave. We were staying there on the night of a friend's wedding that was at the venue. After the wedding, we had rented the entire house for guests and the happy couple. The owners of the location were talking in the living room for hours after the event and were insulted when asked to leave. I would never recommend this venue for a night's stay or an event like a wedding!
