Unreliable and Unethical

Please don't use Nationwide Moving Services - they operate a business that is not above board.

They misrepresented themselves - told us things that were not true (delivery date fine, no extra storage charges, "put this in the contract", etc.).

When the carrier (sub-contracted party who was also caught unaware) came on moving day to pack our things, they got less than 1/2 way done when they let us know they were almost at the limit of what was contracted to pack. We were not given any information on a limit when we requested packing of our belongings. Turned out that they had noted (not in the contract but in their own notes) that they contracted 68 boxes to pack a 3 bedroom house (it ultimately took about 200 boxes over that - full indication of the gross negligence of the "estimate"). Because it was the middle of moving day I authorized the continued packing (what else are you supposed to do!?) with it noted that I did not agree to the charges but was in a "hostage" situation without other options.

The next problem came with piano (not asked if we had one). Another $250 charge just to move it (not a grand piano or anything). Probably wouldn't have been an issue for me if we'd known about that up front.

Then - carrier hadn't been informed of the delivery date (4 days after he planned to deliver). We'd been told it wouldn't be a problem and that the truck would be parked in "their secure parking area" with no extra charges.

Final problem - when the contract came we noted that we would be paying with a credit card as instructed to do by our "moving consultant". Turned out that the carrier doesn't accept credit cards at all and Nationwide was unwilling to take the payment and pay the carrier since they made the error.

The contract is full of areas that get you - even though an employee tells you to do something to take care of the exceptions in the contract. The final straw came when they pointed out that it didn't matter what I initialed or didn't, what exceptions I noted, or anything - there is a paragraph that says that once you let the carrier take your belongings you agree to everything.

So my husband actually goes to their place of business - a store front/postal type store with no "secure parking area", VP turns out to be a very young woman who is unprofessional and unwilling to work with us to rectify the mistakes they made. We contracted with them based on misinformation (which we now believe was willful on their part). Very unethical, if not illegal, business.

bad company

This is clearly written by an employee. Look up Ripoffreport.com. This company has had to change it's name many times. Look up the phone numbers, they have address to places they aren't. They are in Crandall and nowhere else. Stay away from this company! They ripped me off as well as many other people!
