On Saturday, March 23, 2013 at approximately 2220 at night myself along with 8 friends approached Midnight Rodeo's door. After a few had gone in my boyfriend and I approached the door and he was let in. It was at this time when the doorman studied my ID and proceeded to hand it back claiming the person on the ID was not myself. I along with the friends in our party have been to this establishment many times as well as other Midnight Rodeo's in Texas. My boyfriend turned around and started questioning the doorman asking what the issue was. He began to tell the doorman we've been here many times and we even have a 2 year old daughter. He showed the doorman a picture of our daughter to which he then told me to use a signature to verify that the ID was mine. I did so and he claimed the signature was not the same. It is important to remember that my ID and signature is from when I was 22 which was over five years ago. Please note that if yourself went to the DPS office the signature is done with an electronic signature pad. I kindly stated to the doorman, "Have you ever tried signing an electronic pad and it came out the same as your real signature?" I also stated that my signature isn't the same today as it was five years ago. It was at this point my boyfriend was getting agitated and stated they could easily ask the sheriff to verify the ID and even run it to make sure the person was real. He at this point declined this invitation and stated that was not necessary. The doorman then asked myself to recite the address and driver's license number. I easily provided my address, but had trouble remembering my license number. Again, who memorizes their license number if it is indeed your license. If anything a person who is carrying a fake ID would do such a thing. It was at this point the doorman directed us to his manager who was incredibly rude. He proceeded to lecture me about how it was not myself. My boyfriend and all of our friends at this point were just shocked at this hostile behavior from people in a "service" industry. My boyfriend then told the manager, "This is ridiculous I'm just going to go get the sheriffs over here (pointing toward them) and have them come over here and look at the ID." At this time the manager became very agitated and angered and stated it doesn't matter it still doesn't mean it's her and we are not letting her in. It was at this point I stated I would gladly return with my passport and he told me it doesn't matter we won't let you in. By this point my boyfriend and a few of my friends had already walked off with my ID and approached the sheriffs that were outside nearby. I joined in the middle of the conversation between my boyfriend and all the sheriffs. They all looked at the ID and made me look straight, smile, etc which the doorman or manager did not ask me to do. They stated the cheek bone structure, jawline, nose, and structure was all perfectly fine and matched. They said it doesn't make sense, that it was definitely myself. The older, taller sheriff directed us to return and tell them he said it's fine and to inform the establishment I should be granted entrance. At this point none of us really even wanted to go in after being treated so rudely and with such little respect. I reluctantly returned and was told it didn't matter what I did, I could return with more govt. issued information and I still would not be allowed in. I do not understand why I was singled out and profiled. I was dressed appropriately, I had not had a single drink all night, and I just wanted to go dancing with friends. I am appalled at the behavior of the staff and the way I was treated. They have single handily lost many loyal customers as we will not be returning to any Midnight Rodeo establishments.
