Founded in 1983, Assistance League of Kansas City is a nonprofit organization that provides philanthropic service, and is located in Gladstone, Mo. Its assault survivor kits program provides clothing and personal items to area s emergency rooms and the Metropolitan Organization to Counter Sexual Assault. Its Operation Foster Children program distributes school supplies to families and agencies caring for local foster children. The Operation Hug provides teddy bears to area s emergency workers and hospital staff to give comfort to children and seniors in crisis.
