We have two girls both in dance classes at the Charlotte location who are loving it. Our family cannot say how much we like the dance studio's approach with children. They are honest and professional, but more importantly POSITIVE. Our girls take ballet, jazz and hip hop classes and the older one wants to pick up an instrument. Good thing they offer music lessons too.

PSMD is an exceptional dance studio. My daughter can't get enough dance and has loved taking classes and performing with PSMD. She loved her previous studio but had progressed as far as they could take her. She has learned so much since making the change two years ago. Her technique, strength, and stamina have improved tremendously and she has had so much fun while working hard! The quality of performance opportunities for the dancers is second to none. The high level of professionalism of Rebecca and Daniel Wiley and their staff is wonderful for both dancers and parents. The Charlotte/Concord/Kannapolis region is truly blessed to have this amazing studio in our area. Be sure to check out PSMD's annual Nutcracker performances!

Our daughter has been dancing since she was a little over 2 years old. She is 14 now and has been with Piedmont School of Music and Dance (PSM&D) since she was 9 years old. She asked to come and dance here because of a referral from a friend. This friend was a dancer that she had admired since she was very young. When a studio has students that are referring other students, you know they are happy where they are. When students ask to come here, there must be great things going on. Coming here was one of the best decisions we have ever supported our daughter in making.

The staff here has a very professional background and it was important to us to make sure our daughter would receive proper technical training when changing dance studios. When she came here she was placed in a classes based on her ability, not just her age or school grade. With the wide variety of class offerings our daughter was able to expand on her dance style skills. All of this has helped her to grow into a well rounded dancer.

Proper technical training is not the only reason why we have been so pleased with PSM&D. The Wiley's, their staff and students are like a family. We have never experienced a more supportive and professional group of young dancers. When our daughter came to this studio she only knew one other student and she was immediately made to feel like part of this dance family. Since she began dancing here she has been provided with constant support, challenges and discipline that we feel will help her to succeed in whatever she does in life.

From the perspective of busy working parents, the Wiley's business know-how and business ethics have always impressed us. Their organization, scheduling and communication make it effortless for us to know what's going on and when, well in advance, so we can plan our schedules accordingly. They also know how important it is for parents to be able to see what their child is learning and to be reassured that they are happy where they are. With the viewing monitors in the waiting area, we can see our daughter and her class in action at any time.

In addition to the classes at PSM&D, it was important to our daughter to still be able to audition and perform in the Nutcracker and other productions. Their non-profit dance company, Piedmont Dance Theatre (PDT), has allowed her the opportunity to continue doing this. PDT also gave her her first opportunity to perform with a live symphony. These performance opportunities have really increased our daughter's confidence level. We are always impressed watching the professionalism of these dancers. At every show, her grandparents comment that their money spent here is well worth it. A lot of hard work and a lot of volunteers go into these productions. They really bring families together. Everyone pulling together to produce what to the audience, looks effortless and professional never ceases to amaze us.

We are grateful for the part the Wiley's and their staff have played in helping our daughter grow into the well rounded dancer and individual that she is today. Our daughter says she wants to be a professional dancer someday and we truly believe that she is getting all the training here that she needs to be fully prepared for college auditions and whatever else comes her way in the dance world; however, whatever she ends up doing later in life, PSM&D has given her the confidence to follow her dreams and succeed.

PSM&D is unlike any other school you might find out there. They truly care about the welfare of each and every student and their families. Unlike other "mills" that churn out students at a costly amount with little regard to what they are teaching, PSM&D not only has quality staff (office and dance instructors) but teach technique and core values that are needed to create incredible dancers. Each student is evaluated individually and then challenged in a positive manner, to reach for their dreams....even if their dreams are just to dance for recreation. The dance instructors are great role models and mentors who also show the students how to work as a team, be respectful of others, teach confidence, poise and how to work hard. If you are looking for a great place to take your son/daughter/grandchild/niece/nephew.....look no further as this is the place that you want to be!

My daughter just graduated and finished her time at PSMD. She has danced since she was 3 and spent most of her dancing career at a different studio. We were concerned when switching studios, but PSMD was FABULOUS to us! They are all about the kids and what is best for them. They do not overprice like many studios, and are very fair to all dancers regardless of skill level and were so welcoming to us. I did not know how nice it was to be appreciated as the customer until we came here. Their instruction is superb and they have taught many students who went on to dance professionally and be very successful. Anytime I needed ANYTHING, they were so helpful. I cannot imagine that anyone could have had a bad experience with this group of owners and teachers. Trust me, they are far and above the best in the area if you want quality technique instruction, a fair environment and a studio that really wants what is best for your child.

My daughter has been going to Piedmont for the past three years and my husband and I are extremely pleased with the knowledge and professional service of the staff as well as the owners. The instructors go that extra mile to try and bring out the best in each of their students. I haven't had any negative experiences nor has my daughter. Beware of some of the other fly-by-night studios: If you are looking for a top notch organization in which positive results in the students is the desired result vs. strictly amassing students and making money, then Piedmont is the place to be!
