Dr. Lichterman credits his parents and grandparents for teaching him, from an early age, the importance of hard work, compassion and many other values. While going through his residency program, Dr. Lichterman developed an appreciation for the hand, its intricacies and complicated anatomy. At that point, he knew he wanted to be a hand surgeon. Dr. Lichterman's special interests include arthritis and joint replacement, sports-related injuries, traumas and fractures, treatment of peripheral nerves and microsurgery. From understanding the central role our hands play in our lives, Dr. Lichterman is excited and feels lucky to be able to treat patients, helping to improve their quality of life.Dr. Lichterman enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, being active and watching sporting events.There are two main principles that have always been at the center of my approach to patient care: 1) take time to form a special relationship with each patient, and 2) care for every patient as if they were a member of my family. These principles help me develop individualized treatment plans that my patients understand and are comfortable with; we then work together as a team on their road to recovery.
