So bad, it's difficult to express. My husband called this EMS when I couldn't be awakened. I have been very ill for the last year, esp. the last 6 mos. When they arrived they immediately gave me a shot of Narcan which is a narcotic reversal drug. I awakened when they dropped me on the floor taking me out of my bedroom. One of the paramedics immediately began accusing me of taking an overdose of narcotics. They had counted my pills and found 30 were missing. They were in my purse. Turned out I had sepsis, and Narcan can awaken you when it raises your blood pressure which drops very low when you have septic shock. One para. yelled at me all the way to the hosp. demanding to know where the missing pills were. I was very ill and out of it. He was frightening me. They act as if they are Narcs or DEA agents. When I was taken to Hi-Desert Hosp. they violated my Hippa rights, as did the staff. at Hi-Desert. I was taken to a different hosp. by my husband where it was determined I had not taken an overdose, but was instead very ill. (Which I had been for months and am in palliative care). I was treated like dirt by both Morengo Basin EMS and Hi-Desert Hospital. If you are not in immediate danger of dying, have someone drive you to Desert Regional Hosp. where you get great treatment. Hi-Desert also loves to violate your Hippa and privacy rights and the staff is nasty and sarcastic. They are a good match for this EMS company.
