Clayton County Sheriff's Office has administrative, operations, field and jail divisions. It provides crime prevention and law enforcement services to the city of Jonesboro, Ga. The office has a Special Weapons and Tactics team that conducts bimonthly training sessions to handle situations, such as inmate riots, barricaded gunmen, search warrants and dignitary protection. Clayton County Sheriff's Office has a sex offender registry and tracking unit that tracks different types of crimes, such as statutory rape, child molestation and sexual battery. In addition, Clayton County Sheriff's Office has an honor guard team that performs at funerals, parades and special events.
