Cornerstone Services, based in Joliet, Ill., provides people with disabilities comprehensive services, including residential, community, behavioral health and employment services. Founded in 1969, its residential services include 24-hour supervision, intermittent community integrated living arrangements and community services that include field trips combined with classroom training to help individuals develop the skills necessary to lead an active life in the community. Its behavioral health services for individuals with mental health problems include outpatient counseling, psychosocial rehabilitation and community housing. It also offers career solutions for individuals to find and retain jobs in their own communities. Cornerstone Services receives support for its activities from various resources, including Illinois Department of Human Services, Illinois Association of Rehabilitation Facilities and volunteers.
