The journey began back in the 1976 with the idea of having a deli that would have the best sandwiches in town. For years and years. People came to EAT. What came to BE. These famous deli "steamed" sandwiches. Then came along Maxine. With HER "finest sweet TEA!" That's when people went crazy (we are sure it Didn't have anything to DO with the sugar. ) although poor Richards has seen It's fair share of owners WHO tried to make it "what it once was. " it Wasn't until recently. That we bought the place to show people what poor Richards is ALL about. What is it about. YOU ASK? It's about tradition. It's about friends. Its about family and love. It's about coming OUT to have a good time. NO matter HOW OLD YOU are. It's about ETSU and community involvement. But mostly. Just like the sign says. It's about good food and good spirits!.
