Dr. Speers has done both of my back surgeries. I will admit that he is very blunt when telling you what is going on. He is not one of the doctors that will beat around the bush. If he doesn't think you need surgery he will not do it. If he things you need surgery he will tell you and explain why. If he is going to do a fusion, and you are a smoker, he will make you quit smoking for 30 days before he does surgery. He then does a test durring pre-op to make sure you quit. If you didn't he WILL NOT do surgery!! He does what is best for the patient... If the patient isn't going to help by stop smoking why should he waste his time and cut on your back.... His general words... There are other doctors in town that will cut just to cut. Dr. Speers is not one of them!

After two months of unbearable pain I was referred to Dr. Spears, I am a little over twenty four hours post surgery and am absolutely amazed at the results. I had a microdiscectomy on the L5 S1 region of my lower back. All I can say is Dr Spears is amazing. He is not one to tell you something that you want to hear, he is one to tell you the truth, and tell you in plain English. I highly recommend Dr. Spears if you are having back or neck problems. Thank you Dr Spears

Not recommended at all. Not a good bedside manner, and did not help with the problem.
