I worked here as a porter and as maintenance and as a painter and as a gardener you name it I've done it you had to be 100% in order to work here no mercy I've gotten hurt quite a few times. And have even got hit by a truck that'd be going to the premises no mercy at all if you're not 100% you can't work they weren't here for 5 years tried my best and my hardest and the people are really nice that tenants of great but I can't see much for management they work you the hardest all day long in the winter 12 hours a day. And the union does nothing for you. I've got hurt on the job I ruined my left wrist I still suffer from pains 5 years later after two operations. Not much to say for it but I wish my friends were still here the best it's not easy for some it is easy very little work . They do pick favorites that's all I gotta say. I only give it once. Cuz I live here.

I moved here, March 2006, and have been pleased from the start. Really nice well kept neighborhood. Maintenance is on the ball, all the time. I have only needed very minor repairs, and whenever I did, maintenance would usually come the same day or the next day. They have 24 emergency service. The grounds are always clean. My building was always kept in pretty good condition, unless an inconsiderate neighbor would leave garbage in the hall until the next morning. An exterminator comes on a monthly basis. Beautiful greenery all over the place, and management DOES NOT allow anyone to picnic or lounge in it. They offer pretty inexpensive garage parking (heated in the winter/cool in the summer) for under $80/month or free parking in the outside lots (a sticker is provided for both). However, street parking is HORRIBLE. It seems as if there are 3+ cars to every apartment. I would suggest parking on Hillside, as an alternative. Some buildings have young people who hang out in the front of them, which can be annoying, but they are harmless (I have not had any issues). I feel secure, and have referred several people over the past few years, and they are pleased, as well. There are a few outside laundry facilities on the grounds (I am lucky to have one connected to my building). The location is easily accessible to the GCP (Francis Lewis South exit), Clearview (2 minutes away), CIP (10 minutes away), Southern State (15 mins away) and the Belt Pkwy (17 mins away). There is a strip mall at the corner of Francis Lewis and Hillside, which includes a Chase bank (the other closest location is at Hillside and 180th St). There is a 24hr CVS at Hillside & Springfield (7 mins away). You can take a nice stroll thru Jamaica Estates and Hollis Hills, and view the beautiful homes. Cunningham Park is only a 15 min walk away, and has a really nice walk/run path, bike path, huge baseball diamond, camp grounds, bocci and tennis courts. During the summer concerts in the park are held. Fresh Meadows is a nice walk (I am a huge walker) or a 15 min drive away. There is a newly renovated AMC Theater, Chase, Children's Place, Duane Reade, Kohl's, Michaels, Modells, Waldbaum's and other stores there. I really like it here, and trust that you will too. Oh, I forgot to mention, the rent goes up yearly. Enjoy.
