I have eaten there many times. I don't see how it's bad there. I think it's has gotten better if that's possible. Point is eat there give it a try. I don't go on what others say. I have to see for myself just I think anyone should. I worked in the restaurant business for years. I know what it takes and they have it.

We have eaten at the Ithaca Denny's multiple times since it has opened. The waitresses have always been pleasant and very helpful. The wait time for seating and the delivery of our food has progressively declined since opening. Twice we have observed the kitchen staff being educated and instructed by other senior staff, not the manager (his job) as he is nowhere to be found or is seen attempting to flirt with the staff. On one occasion he (Tom) did stop by and apologized for the excessive long wait. This would be fine if it had been a one time occurrence.

Just yesterday we again stopped in to have lunch. After an extremely long wait to be seated we ordered an appetizer, then proceeded to order our meal by a very efficient waitress, Evelyn. Due to the inefficiently ran kitchen our appetizer arrived with our meal and only part of our meal arrived. Finally when our hash browns arrived they were only slightly brown and the entire underside raw, after ordering them to be extra crispy. I proceeded to Tom, the manager with my raw hash browns in hand and explained the entire miss handling of our meal and the order in which they arrived. Tom proceeded to turn around and ignore my issue and one of the staff took my plate and went back to the kitchen and asked for them to please cook the properly. After fifteen minutes pass our waitress again asks the kitchen where the hash browns were. A few minutes later they appeared and again Tom is nowhere in sight. She apologizes profusely and I said that I realize it is not her fault. I even laughed and said well I am not stupid, no one in their right mind would eat those hash browns after they were MIA for almost twenty minutes and I left them there.

When my husband went to pay, the "manager" Tom magically appeared and had the audacity to ask how our meal was. When my husband reiterated our meal Tom offered to take some off our tab, which equaled a $1.25.

I firmly feel that good practices, efficiency and work ethic start at the top. At this Denny's it is a far cry from that. The kitchen is poorly ran which in turn ruins meals, but if the are not instructed as to how things should be ran then it will continue to decline as it is doing since it has opened.

Denny's of Ithaca should start cleaning house at the top of management along with its bathrooms and floors. The cook staff and waitresses just need guidance, not a work environment where they are flirted with or degraded.

There are many other Denny's in the surrounding Tiers that we will visit and support but no longer the Ithaca Denny's that is so poorly managed.

Have been to this Denny's three times, and each time it just keeps getting worse. It is an embarrassment of a restaurant, too bad Friendly's went out, at least they were of a better grade.

The wait is expected, whether the parking lot is half full or full. The wait staff seem to do what they can - however, with a kitchen staff that obviously cannot keep up due to whatever poor training they have received or whatever the issue is - the wait staff have their hands tied. I don't believe they are under-staffed there, I believe they have the wrong staff....beginning with the manager....Tom.

Not only has Tom dished out grief to me about being old - because I am an AARP member? Or so he could tell my wife she looked too young to be with an AARP member ....yes I left him with his teeth, this time....he has also been smart mouthed to other patrons, very snide and with un-couthe humor, stuff most would let slip by...barely.

Tom also is seen frequently at the tables apologizing profusely about slow food service and wrong food items at wrong tables, and is usually comping bills because the whole shebang usually sucks for the casual diner lured into the place because of the Denny's name.

it is in my estimation (as someone who has worked food service before Tom was whooshed out of his mama's sac) that management is the issue. If the cooks can't keep up then there is something wrong in the kitchen. If the kitchen is the issue all three visits over a few month span then there is obviously an issue management hasn't addressed. Or management ignores. Management which is cocky and arrogant.

It seems like management at Denny's in Ithaca is more interested in hitting on anything that moves. Maybe thats why they will be losing at least two customers. The worst restaurant I have been to in Ithaca in a very long time.

The appetizer magically appears with the meal, the meal is incomplete because the cooks can't plate simple hash browns with the toast and the eggs. The food is cold in the middle - because the microwave isn't used properly? The food will always be comped there as long as the manager remains running a sinking ship. The wait staff are friendly and usually competent, though their hands are tied when it comes to bringing food that is ignored or put together improperly by the cooks.

This place makes McDonalds look like the Taj Mahal. No offense McDonalds, not ripping on you. They will not see me walk through the door again, though Denny's in other cities may.

As a busy man with a life, I never post or review things. This is the first review I have ever made, and probably the last. For me to take time to post this I hope it shows how much it ticks me off. And Tom, lucky you still own your teeth....don't hit on married women when they are there with their husbands. Macho...yes, smart....no.

I was at dennys on Halloween, not only was the place jammed packed, there was only three servers on. The manager was in the kitchen helping the cooks and my server was Abby or Annie I don't remember her name, but she was very kind and friendly, she apologized about the 40 minute wait and kept asking if she could get me anything, not only that but I watched her go around to all the tables making sure every one was okay and apologizing to them, I also saw her help her co workers get their food out and making sure they were okay. I was very impressed with her and despite the long wait the food was delicious. I will absolutely be back to this dennys. Hopefully they can do something about the short staffing problem they had and maybe the food will come out faster, but as I said, well worth the wait, especially to see the servers so fast paced trying to get things done and showing sympathy to their customers about the long wait.

Don't go if you're hungry! My family went to this particular Denny's on 9/1/14 at 11:00 p.m. and waited over a half hour to be seated while watching numerous other customers coming in after us and being seated.

We were four adults and two children with one requiring a high chair. After waiting so long and the kids getting antsy, we begged for a small table and squeezed into a booth.

Without so much of an apology, we sat down without any flatware or placemats. the high chair was dirty from a previous child and when my daughter in law asked for it to be wiped down, she was treated like it was a problem.

My son received his sister's coffee, my daughter in law got the wrong sandwich and my french toast was bland and soggy!

I came to see my family from far away and did not appreciate being treated so unprofessionally.
