My mom moved here a few months...

My mom moved here a few months ago. She is pretty independent but is prone to falling and we needed her to be somewhere that she could get help if needed. Although they do provide one meal a day that is about it. The residents are suppose to put a sign out in the morning that says they are ok (hang it on the doorknob). My mom regularly forgets to do this and no one ever comes to check on her. In fact, she got VERY sick and although she didn't go to eat her lunch (which she does everyday) no one called or checked on her. My sister took her to the hospital and she was admitted. Still no call from the club as to her whereabouts. It has been 5 days now. They have a "cleaning" lady for the residents but all she does is mop and vacuum and clean the bathroom. Nothing more. The area out her back door is uneven and dangerous for the elderly. I asked about getting it leveled out and was told no. Can you imagine these elderly people with walkers and canes navigating this lumpy, bumpy area to get to the sidewalks? If you are thinking about this place please check it out closely. They do not really keep "an eye" on the residents like we had hoped. For the extra money she pays she could have stayed in her apartment and got a cleaning lady and an in home food service and lifeline. At least she would be able to get help if she fell. No one is there at night to answer any phones or to help the residents if needed.
