Our facility was founded in 2006 by Genesis Development, a non-profit that provided human services for people with physical and mental disabilities. Sean, Chad and Justin Mandelbaum acquired the facility in 2021, and have maintained the original mission of providing meaningful employment for our disabled staff. The Mandelbaum family has been invested in Des Moines since Julius established Mandelbaum's dry goods store in 1864, and in Indianola since 1996. Today, Genesis Linen Services provides best-in-class linen laundering for some of Central Iowa's largest and most well-known hospitality and health care facilities.
