Our family has used the services of Williams and Bluitt for decades. The former owner and staff went out of their way to meet the needs of families. However, our latest experience in late October was extremely unsatisfactory. Those dealing with us and our preplanned arrangements were disrespectful and/or untruthful from the very beginning. When we researched costs on our own, we found that their prices for caskets, flowers, programs, etc. were highly excessive. We purchased the casket and flowers outside the funeral home. We also learned from the cemetery and the newspaper that we were quoted excessive amounts for the cemetery opening and closing and the newspaper announcement. When we brought that to the attention of the funeral home, the overage amount was taken off our final bill. And, although promised that we would be refunded for any difference in the amount already paid in the preplanned total and the actual total once the trust company made the adjustments, that still has not happened. We have tried on several occasions to meet or talk on the phone with the person who dealt with us or another staff member, and are always told that the staff is busy or away from the office. We are appalled that this funeral home has become a business-only facility interested in meeting their financial goals at the expense of bereaved families.
