I bought a stihl chainsaw from Jamie Trotter owner of J&J tree service. Once I paid him the 700.00 he quit answering his phone. Jamie Trotter stole 700.00 from me.

They're a scam, and should be sued/put out of business. Definitely don't pay up front- they won't even finish a job, and you'll never hear from them again.

A very close friend of mine recommended this tree service. I chose the least expensive option in removing a very large tree that had been partially knocked down from a bad storm. The plan was, for $800 the company was to cut the remainder of the large tree down, cut the tree in to manageable pieces, and cut the stump as low as possible. After their "completed" work, I was stuck with a stump in my backyard half as tall as I am, wood in my backyard that IS as tall as I am, and I was stuck with paying for the neighbors fence that they broke while attempting to take the tree down. Not to mention the money I was out having to pay someone else to come to my house and cut the wood smaller so I could pay someone to come and haul the wood pieces away. My whole backyard was covered in huge pieces of wood. This was the worst experience I have ever had with a company I've dealt with. This was summer of 2014. After such a horrible experience, I am just now getting quotes on having the stump cut shorter which is going to cost me another $600.

Do NOT do business with J and J tree service. Price sounded great, but turned out to be very unprofessional. Showed up to do work without proper equipment and brought a TWO YEAR OLD with them to cut a tree down?! Finished half the job and I paid in good faith that they would finish. Jamie never came back to complete the job. I have called repeatedly and asked him to finish the job or refund my money, but to no avail. Lessons here:

Don't pay until the job is DONE... completely done.

Don't work with these folks - they do not have the proper equipment and are unprofessional.

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS ...

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY. They cut up a tree limb lying in my yard without authorization and demanded money from the tenent who lives there on 9/12/12. I told the tenant to have them call me. They called and I explained that I owned the property and did not sign a contract with them but I would speak to my tenants and get back to them that evening. They called a couple of hours later and said I told them I'd be there in 11/2 hours to pay them when I said no such thing. Then they called again and this time it got very nasty with one of them calling me terrible names. I advised them that I wasn't paying them a dime! They called back again to tell me I'd better get over to my property because there would be consequences. I did file a police report and would love to have thought to tell them that the property does have security cameras. I don't know if someone posed as one of my tenants or me but I know they did not have a signed business contrac and said they had a verbal contract with a woman but did not know her namet. They told me they are going to sue me and I told them that's what they should do if they believe I owe them money. Also told them that they should have a signed contract before they ever do any work. I am suspici9ous that they may have been trying to scam us but I have no proof of that so that is only conjecture on my part. I am also going to file a report with the Better Business Bureau. I rate this company 0 stars and would be vary wary of hiring them to do anything but if you do, make sure you have a contract.
