Divsys was formed in 2010 as a woman-owned company of 11 engineers and technicians with deep experience in the Fabrication of Printed Circuit Boards.  There are now 22 employees in 14,000 ft2 of space dedicated to specifying, procuring, and certifying printed circuit boards.  The Indianapolis location of the company is ideal due to its proximity to both coasts and excellent access to premium overnight services from Asia and to all US locations.

The founders of Divsys along with their Technical Advisory Board, have, combined, over 100 years of in-plant experience in the PCB industry.  This team recognized that the closure of several premier US PCB manufacturers left a void in the market for specifying and obtaining product critical PCB’s.  They observed that this void was being filled by brokers and manufacturer’s reps who were supplying low cost product, but very little added value to the customer.   In this transition to brokers, the customer has lost the ability to converse with the supplier to obtain expert guidance in the selection of materials, technology, or surface finishes and they are no longer able to inexpensively or conveniently obtain assurance that the PCB’s they receive meet their specifications.   The Divsys business model addresses these shortcomings, while still being competitive with brokered product.  Divsys has the engineering front end of a fabricator, the technical experts to assist the customers, the laboratories to analyze finished product and the ability to perform mechanical modifications such as pocket routing.    Divsys combines customer added value with “known good” product-critical PCB’s.   The Performance Database   Since its inception, Divsys has evaluated PCB’s from over 50 foreign and domestic fabricators.  Of this group, Divsys is actively purchasing PCB’s from only 6.  Whenever a production lot is run through approval for use analysis, the results are loaded into a fabricator database that can be used to characterize the fabricator.  Divsys envisions that within 18 months, the database will contain entries from over 100 fabricators.  With this data, Divsys is able to compare the actual performance of a supplier to their certifications, literature, and evaluation samples.  The comparison is made with actual shipped product, not 1-day supplier audits or qualification samples.   Divsys uses a structured supplier selection process that includes a Service Level Agreement, Technical Fabrication Specifications, and Qualification Product.  If a supplier is selected, this data becomes the baseline in the database.   If a supplier’s production performance data does not match their qualification data, then they are delisted.    In addition, data is kept on fabricators whose product was analyzed, but not purchased through Divsys.  In this fashion, Divsys has a growing data base with information about the performance of a wide range of fabricators.
