Poor Man's Moving is the WORST moving company I have ever hired. Period.

I've used them for 3 previous moves, and everything went well until the last move. The owner apparently didn't have enough men to cover the move this time, so he sent 2 guys out with a U-Haul instead of the normal 3 guys. The 2 guys were very friendly and worked VERY hard.

We realized that the move would take much longer than planned, so one of the guys called "the boss". The owner was unpleasant, defensive and unwilling to help. His only concern was getting paid.

The move was completed, but we paid over twice what our previous moves with Poor Man's cost us. We're very unhappy after being extorted for $650 to move a 1-bedroom apartment to a location 10 minutes away. It took Poor Man's Moving 6 hours to complete the move. The original quote was $288, and previous moves using Poor Man's were in the upper-$200 range.

Unless you enjoy throwing money away, call someone else for your moving needs.

I've moved many times over my lifetime, and I've dealt with many moving companies. That said, Poor Man's Moving is the worst moving company I have ever hired.

The lack of a 3rd man really slowed the move, since nobody was available to disassemble furniture, arrange boxes to be hauled and so on. The previous move into the apartment (with 3 men) took 2 hours total. This time, it took 4 hours to pack up the apartment and another 2 hours to unpack. 6 hours total.

Overall positive experience, but room for improvement. Poor communication leading up to the move and move day, and then the loaders showed up 30-45 minutes late. The loaders seemed knowledgeable and did a great job getting everything to fit in the Uhaul, but due to the poor communication and the loaders being late I probably wouldn’t use this company again.

They are the best movers that I have ever worked with!!! They were friendly, efficient, and cautious with our things so that they would not be broken. They lifted our heavy marble furniture with ease. They unloaded me in Lee's Summit and then drove all the way to Overland Park to load more to bring back to Lee's Summit. It was a very long and strenuous day but they always kept a smile on their face and had a positive attitude. My 4 year old followed them around all day and they were very good with him and never got frustrated with him if he was in the way. I would recommend these movers to anyone and everyone!!!

These guys are much better than other companies I've used in the past. Friendly, prompt, carefull, and have a good sense of humor.

We used these guys twice in February and March. They were awesome. Highly recommend if you are moving. They work hard, quickly and are super cool guys. Also, make sure you give them some bottled water or something, because these guys will work their tails off. You will not regret using them.

These guys are AWSOME!!! They worked their butts off! We moved from a second floor apartment and they handled everything with care. We really enjoyed having them move us and we will use them again!

These guys are awesome, i have a third floor apartment and a heavy couch and there was no way me and my father could get it into my apartment. on the same day i was able to call PoorMans and in less the 2 hours the guys were here and 20 minutes later had my couch entertainment center, and dresser out of the truck and into the house. If you are moving and need help in any way call these guys up they are more than reasonably priced and the work they do is worth ten times what they ask. Highly recommend these guys.

These guys are great!!! They showed up and unloaded our entire truck in 2 hrs. Hard working and fast!! Was 95 degrees that day and they still rocked!! Will use again!

We are really satisfied with their service.They are very caring people. They were not only using their labor, but also their brain. They did great job for my moving. When I opened the tailer, nothing was damaged. And great price!!! We strongly recommend you to call them when you need to move.
