At first I was a bit concerned with the movers. We only hired two guys but three showed up. They were supposed to have their own dolley and supplies but only had one so they used the one we had rented with the moving truck. They also stacked as many boxes as they could on top of each dolley and drug the dolley up the stairs. There was a lot of screeching involved. When thinking about it it's kind of a miracle that the only thing that broke was a cheap wood bookshelf. Two of the three guys were nice but the third was rather rude and started arguing with us when we told him the dolley could not come in the apartment because new carpet had just been installed. Overall though they were fast and we didn't have to carry all of that stuff up a flight of stairs so it worked out okay.

Prompt, courteous, professional. They were early and did a very good job moving my daughter into her apartment. The pricing is fair, also.

I was happy with my services. They were nice guys and they did a good job. Got there on time and made my move flawless.

Do Not Hire - My SML Pro Movers were courteous, punctual and hardworking, but the end result of their services was very disappointing.

When I arrived at my destination I noticed that 13 pieces of furniture had significant scratches, gouges, and other damage to the surface due to the way my ProMovers had packed these items into the truck. This was due to a number of poor packing practices used by my SML provided ProMovers, including: 1) a number of wood items had been packed by the ProMovers next to each other without a blanket or plastic wrap separating the items, allowing the furniture items to scratch each other during the trip; 2) in 1 case a wood chair was placed on top of an upholstered chair by the ProMovers without a blanket or wrap separating them allowing the wood chair to rub very visible holes into the upholstered chair; 3) some of the wood furniture items were placed against the side rails of the truck also causing signifiant scratches to the furniture; and lastly 4) the legs of my dining room table were laid directly on the floor of the truck without being secured or wrapped in any manner causing significant surface damage to all four table legs. I found it interesting that my ProMovers wrapped certain furniture items in shrink wrap but not others even though there was more than sufficient supply of wrap and they were under no pressure to finish the loading effort in a specific time period.



My understanding from my conversations with SML and the documentation provided was that ProMovers were professionals with extensive moving and truck loading experience. This is the reason I paid for this premium SML service and allowed them to pack the truck based on their experience. I now see that the load service I received from my SML provided ProMovers was not of professional quality and has resulted in significant damage to my furniture that will require me significant time and money to restore my furniture to its previous appearance.

UNPROFESSIONAL. I would not recommend SML because we contracted with them to have 3 helpers for 4 hours. We were exhausted from packing our house,loading our truck and driving it for 6 hours. Only one helper showed up, and he was overweight and elderly. The second helper called and said he couldn't find the house and decided not to come. The third helper never showed or called. SML did not come through with replacement workers. We had no choice but to unload. Luckily our new neighbor offered to lend a hand and we all got to work. The man SML sent did his best at first, but later I saw him dropping our boxes to avoid bending to set them down. I regret agreeing to pay this company at all, but we were exhausted and just wanted to be done and finally get some rest. We paid them for the one worker. Overall, SML added stress and pain to an already exhausting ordeal.

HORRIBLE SERVICE ! If I could give less than one star I would. We had "pro movers" to load our apartment. They DID NOT do what they were suppose to. They did not bubble wrap, which was provided. They did not use the U haul blankets, which was provided. They actually took off the blankets that were on my new furniture and rammed it into the metal truck taking a huge chunk out of the corner of my dining table. They told me once it was pointed out to them to just go through claims later. I had to rush to bubble wrap what I could. Before the truck even moved an inch, my dining chairs were damaged, my dining table was damaged and my travertine table was scratched and partially broken from scrapping it on the ground. All I could do was cry. I don't understand why they sent these two unprofessional "pro movers". I would NOT RECOMMEND this company to anyone.

We were to have 4 "Pro Movers" and only 3 showed up and immediately one left. So this left us with 2 ! The two that were left worked hard BUT I cannot say they were as what was described to as "Pro Movers" Nice young men with strong backs. My wife and I had sold our home and had to vacate our home. Unfortunately with only the two young men working it ran us into not getting out of the house in the time that we supposed to. We were embarrassed and had the new owner very verbal and upset at us! Many pieces of our furniture was scratched, chipped, one antique rocking chair broken and a 6foot artificial tree broken in half. We turn in a claim to the claim department, along with photos and was sent $30 for the damages! The claim adjuster stated that everything was paid at 60cents a pound! The furniture was in excellent shape prior to the movers coming to our house. We sent out another request to the claim adjuster that we did not want items replaced but to have them repaired. We as of this date have not heard a response from this claim adjuster! We had downsized from a large home to two smaller houses. One house in Henderson, NV and the other in Ohio. Both houses had movers from SML. The furniture going to Ohio had been loaded on the truck first and the furniture to be kept in NV loaded on last. All was to be unloaded by your SML Pro Movers. The movers in NV Did Not advise us that they had damaged the furniture. It had been more than 24 hours of the young men working without sleep. We were exhausted (we are in our 70's) . Their supervisor stated if anything was wrong to let her know and it would be taken care of. The next day we unwrapped the furniture and discovered the damages that had been done and took photos prior to leaving for the trip to Ohio. The movers in Ohio did take photos of the rocking chair that had been broken and called their supervisor but did not take photos of some of the other items that they unwrapped.

Since we have not heard from the claim adjuster wanting to make things right, I have no choice but to Not Recommend Anyone Using the Services of your company SML moving made simple.

Steve and Nick loaded me in PA. Outstanding job. Timely, efficient, packed everything safely and were very professional the entire time. Had 3 guys off load in FL. Did decent job. Seemed they needed to get somewhere after my job, as they wanted to arrive 1 hour earlier than scheduled, which I could not accommodate ad I was settling on my new home. Not near as professional as loading crew was in PA, but got the job done.

Hired 2 pro movers who did a decent job. Their supervisor helped with some stuff, but as an elderly man could only move so fast. (not a problem since I only paid for 2 guys anyway). My only problem was that they kept pointing out that it wasn't what they were used to. They were more concerned about our stuff than we were. I had flown in that morning to move someone from CT to FL. I went straight from airport to get truck, then to storage facility, and hit the road within an hour of movers leaving. Time was a factor, and they came through.

It is great to have this option instead of hiring random day laborers or asking friends to help. Affordable alternative. The professional movers were great. Fast, efficient and great at loading the truck. However, on the unpack side we had helpers... they arrived super early... before my truck, which was stressful. Then they were ill equipped for the job...one had a bum knee and the other a bad attitude and he was rude to the guy he was working with, creating a tough environment. Finally the one guy also broke items by being careless. My husband even had to manage the refrigerator as neither of them could do it.

You really have to watch to make sure these guys are packing you stuff properly. They packed it good and tight, but in such a way as rubbing during transit damaged the bejeezus out of our belongings.

Wow! I read all these reviews before I posted my review. My experience was the best ever! We started in NJ with two professional movers. They were fantastic. They had three floors of our home to move. So they were moving clothes, boxes, furniture.... They packed the truck, wrapped all furniture and tied down everything.

They were respectful to us and our belongings. They were on time. It was a pleasure working with them. Hubby drove truck to SC. The two professional movers were late, but called and explained the rain was bad where they were coming from. They arrived and immediately started working. They were also respectful, great guys. We could not have been happier with the service in both states. We would use them again if the need arises. Vivian F.

There were four people to assist our move. One of them was a woman who did virtually nothing. She was lazy and stood around even after given instruction. Two of the men worked very hard and did most of the heavy lifting. The other man was not motivated but did work as instructed. I would not recommend this service to anyone for moving. In Los Angeles we paid less for professional movers which were outstanding. I paid a lot more money for untrained laborers which only two of them deserved a tip. The woman who accompanied these men should not be utilized again.

Showed up late. Brought a dog. Two of the three guys were constantly checking their phones. Didn't know how to load a truck. Broke things in front of us. I got movers to save me time and they cost me a day and a half. Had to repackage the truck so my stuff would fit. Called to complain and they insisted that they sent me a certified moving crew and not labor. Would never suggest anyone use this company. Ever. Your better off calling a local moving company and asking for their crew to pack your truck.

We booked in advance: 3 workers to unload our truck for 3 hours. 1 guy showed up. He was old and fat and slow. This guy knew one of the other 2 and called him to ask if he was coming. The guy said he couldn't find the address, got mad and went home. The 3rd guy never showed up or called in. Luckily our new neighbor helped us and the old guy did his best. We were exhausted. SML charged us for the one guy. When I realized they get their guys from Labor Ready I was angry. If I wanted 3 losers I could have called Labor Ready myself and cut out this useless middleman. DO NOT USE SML IN CINCINNATI

Even on Labor Day weekend, I received a quote and follow-up phone calls to plan my mom's move so it could happen at lightening speed. The two movers were efficient, knew what they were doing, and were super patient and friendly. Great experience.

The two professional movers that handled the load for me were timely, courteous, and efficient. I could not have completed my move without their help. One item did get damaged but in moving a glass object I know these things can occur. Overall I was still quite satisfied with their service.

These guys are crooks. They damaged some of my furniture so badly that it is no longer usable. They use the apparent "industry standard" policy of only awarding damages at .60 per pound. I received $269.40 for $2000 worth of damage.

SML moved out belongings into the truck and out at our destination. Both teams did a good job and we're couteous and helpful.

Great professional movers! Tim and Carlos were on time, professional and very nice. They worked very hard with no breaks to get everything moved in four hours. Would recommend them highly!
