I rarely give a restaurant 5-stars, especially a medium priced restaurant. Hector's deserves 5-stars because their food is surprisingly good, unique and flavorful while also being very affordable.



Service was terrific. They really take care of their customers. When you are seated, they offer the usual chips, salsa and creamy avocado sauce. Their salsa is made fresh and is served hot with steam coming from the bowl. It tastes wonderful.



My wife had ordered the tamale dinner, while I ordered the fish enchiladas. She is really, really picky about her tamales... but said these were the BEST she's ever eaten. The pork tamales are covered with a meat gravy. They are tender, well flavored and surprisingly different. The fish enchiladas were really good too. The sauce was a white Mexican cheese & white wine with mushroom and vegetables added. The white wine added a pleasant taste to the sauce.



Both dinners came with Mexican rice and re-fried beans. Normally, I will taste re-fried beans at any other restaurant and dismiss them as being non-edible. These were actually good. Hectors makes their own re-fried beans and it tastes like they pan grilled and flavored them before plating. The rice was really well made, lightly flavored but it complimented the entrees really well.



For service, Hectors gets 5-stars. For food quality and caring about taste and appearance... again 5-Stars. For pricing and value for the money... again 5-Stars.



My family will be back. I've already recommended them to several friends. No wonder every time you pass by, there are cars in the parking lot. They seem to always have business, like any really good restaurant will.



I would put Hectors on the list as a family friendly restaurant with great food at budget prices. You will leave full and happy you came.
