On June 5th 2017 my husband and I went into Golden Corral in Humble, Texas for lunch after we were at the Houston VA for several hours for my husband to have some tests done. We thought it was a great opportunity to eat there since we were driving through the area and love spending some time in the Humble. The lunch was decent with the food being hit and miss as usual with Golden Corral and after lunch both my husband and I decided that to go to the bathroom before starting our 30 minute drive home. My husband walked into the mens room and started walking toward a stall and ended up slipping in a huge puddle of sewage water from an overflowed toilet that covered the majority of the floor in the bathroom. There was one sign about a wet floor that was nowhere near the puddle. Now my husband is a 56 year-old disabled veteran and has a hard time walking around anyway due to damage to his knee and back during his time in the service and when he slipped in the puddle he ended up flat on his back in pain with his tailbone in agony and his phones screen was busted. Thankfully there were two other men in the bathroom that helped him get up off the floor and gather his things up. He limped out of the bathroom as a manager and another employee rushed over because one the men that helped him up went and got an employee. The employee, walking into the bathroom, stated as he was walking in and I was waiting outside for my husband, that they keep having problems with the toilets overflowing and the Manager met us as I was helping my husband over to a booth. My husband had nasty smelly water all over his butt and back with wet toilet paper hanging off his pants. He was in a lot of pain but because he was embarrassed he did not want to have an ambulance take him out of there and decided he wanted to go home and see how he felt later. The manager said that this was fine, got all of our information, and said that she was going to call their insurance company so that if he needed to go to the hospital or doctor they could take care of it, giving the impression that the insurance would take care of the doctor visit. We called the next day due to his tailbone being in so much pain that he could barely get out of bed. Found out that the manager had never called the insurance company and said that someone would contact us but nobody did that day. The next day we received a call from the insurance company and my husband explained everything and that he really needed to go see the doctor because this was the second day and he still could not get out of the bed. After not hearing anything for a week I decided to write to Golden Corrals corporate office and the general manager of the Golden Corral, Mrs. Smith, immediately contacted me the next day. My husband talked to the lady that called and she went on a spiel about how her own husband is a veteran and acted all sympathetic and she said that she was going to call the insurance company and see what was going on and was going to help in every way possible. Another week went by and my husband called Mrs. Smith to let her know that no one had contacted him and she said that she was going to be at corporate and she was going to get this handled. We were waiting to go to the doctor because we thought that the insurance was going to take care of it and my husband was hobbling around in pain this whole time barely able to get out of bed in the morning and needing help standing, and we ended up going to the VA doctor to get it looked at. Finally the next day the insurance people called and got the information they needed and said they would be in touch. We got a letter dated June 28, 2017 telling us that they completed their investigation and was not going to do anything because Golden Corral was not liable for the accident. How could they not be liable when it was their bathroom with the floor covered in filth and apparently someone knew about because they put a sign off to the side of

Food is OK at best. Unclean Restaurant.

Food is OK, but not up to Golden Corral standards. I've eaten at better Golden Corrals. This one just doesn't put much effort into food quality. Flavors are OK, but not really good.

This particular restaurant is sort of dirty. The bathrooms are pathetic. The dining room isn't very clean. It just seems like the staff stopped caring. Eating at a dirty restaurant doesn't give me much confidence in the food preparation.

My wife wanted me to give them 1/2 star. I'm being generous with 2 stars because I think they can still improve and do better. Until then, I don't recommend this Golden Corral.

Golden Corral

My family really likes eating here. There is always lots of hot food available. The bakery items are hot and delicious. The rolls are especially good.
