We have lived in Minneapolis now for over 13 years. We have tried all the Japanese restaurants in this region. Many are quite good. But according to my inherited taste buds from wonderful family recipes and from many years of business travel to major urban cities, my favorite to this day is still Origami

The owners are and older couple from Japan. Quiet unobtrusive gracious gentle The seasoning is impeccable-- not too heavy. Not too sharp. And just the tight amounts of dashi, excellent quality soy sauce. And genuine ingredients. Their tempura batter is the best manufactured -- extremely light fluffy. Not thick. Never greasy

Their fish is and has always been EXTREMELY fresh, older less, not soggy limp. (Old). With fine light sweet after taste
The rice is of the best quality on the market. And prepared cooked perfectly -- super light. Flakey not soggy. Melts in your mouth WONDERFUL flavor. Love their rice!

My favorite fancy sushi roll is the tuna gobo nori tempura flake delughttful Sari roll-- almost two meals for me. Quite filling

Their eggplant appetizer is wonderous. And over all these years we have tried everything. All delicious. Perfectly made

Their sushi cheats are all professionally traditionally trained -- the expert rice. The top quality fresh ingredients. You will immediately taste the difference

They used to be in Wayzetta. But closed in December. Now they just opened 7 weeks ago on lagoon street in uptown. Set back with a wonderful huge patio area in front And a large spacious inviting bar

I recommend them with all my heart and wish them good luck in their new uptown location !
