My wife and I are regulars at Portofino's. We are on a budget so don't have too many options for a romantic date night that won't break the bank. Normally we have two appetizers a main dish for two and drinks about 3 rounds and we've never gone over 60 bucks. Drinks are 2 for 1 all day/night long, when you do that math drinks on average are 2-4 bucks each. We get our usual Whiskey and cokes which are around 2 bucks a piece. They serve 100 Pipers as their house whiskey, it tops Jack Daniels, Jim Beam, Wild Turkey, Makers Mark or Crown Royal. Not sure how they get it cause the nearest vendor is located in Baltimore, believe me I've checked. lol There's about 7 that are long time servers at the restaurant and 4-5 that usually are new faces, the owner Joey is a good judge of character, ony hire's friendly and attentive servers. You can see him all over the restaurant over seeing all operations. We absolutely love this place, it really feels like home.

Horrribbleeeee

I once loved this place. It was awesome but I left for about a year. When I got back my friend and I went, service was bad... Quality of food has went from a 10 to 1. To top it off servers were not attentive and and I needed a military discount but their was no manager to be found. Not the most pleasant place to go eat and relax.

second visit - different location

I knew that Portofino had a restaurant in Homestead so when I was travelling down that way I thought I'd stop to eat. I love Homestead and in a way I liked this restaurant better than the Kendall because it seemed more comfortable. The food was just as good and service was great. I had some of there bread and the rosemary ( think thats what that was) was delicious with the smoky flavors. The pizza I had was good great especially with the extra basil..mmmmm! I Even the plain cheese pizza hit the spot. I had these doughnut balls for dessert. I liked them...very simple but good. Over all I'd give it an "A". Wish I could've stayed longer and tried some other stuff. I was in a rush!

If you choose ... CHOOSE somewhere else

## Ignore all good reviews and read this ##

At first I was excited about having this restaurant open, but after trying their menu several times and at both locations ... I have nothing nice left to say.

Outside of an upscale decor and being a Anthony's knock-off, the experiences have been horrible. They might say that the cheese is 100% mozzarella but it is still low quality flavorless skim (not whole-milk). The toppings are not as fresh as they should be... possibly from lack of business. Finally the pepperoni ?!? really? Lil' Ceasars has better quality.

It is a shame really. The owners have made a huge investment and the locations (one in Homestead and one in Kendall) look beautiful but it is worth nothing the way the food comes across.

The last note is this. Service service service.... That is the ONLY thing worse than the food!

If you have a choice... Choose a different restaurant !!! Ignore the good reviews, they are NOT telling you the truth.
