After I had surgery from a baseball injury, my doctor recommended Kids S.P.O.T. I was not only afraid but very depressed. The therapists here not only help me meet my goals and transition to my season pain free. But she helped me stay positive and boosted my self-esteem. Highly recommend.

As a fellow therapist and owner, I feel it necessary to stick up for this clinic. I have heard similar complaints upon receiving calls looking for a new therapy clinic. What these people do not understand is that this is a business that is governed by a horrific healthcare system that has been destroyed. There is not adequate funding from insurance companies and although Medicaid is a decent payer, after paying to process the claims, staff, supplies, and a building, there is not much left. In order to provide services to children unde these circumstances, they are forced into efficiency. Ask yourself if you could go to school, pay student loans, and work for free? I feel for the families and children and understand your experiences... but give these owners a break! They have expenses to pay to stay open. They are provoding access to therapy service. The only way to improve service is to be private pay. It's sad but true. Insurance companies pay on average $50.00 for an assessment! Most therapists request that, or more for their skilled hire. You do the math... it doesn't work. I personally spend on average of 4-5 hours evaluating my clients, reviewing findings in a way the parents understand, and write detailed reports and plans; however, the cost is anywhere between $250.00 and $450.00.
Parents complain they want to use their insurance. Weil, if they do, I risk not even getting paid the $50.00. I have minimum of 1 and most of the time 2 assistants to help me get the children through detailed assessment. All I'm saying is, you get what you pay for. This clinic provides you a cost free service or service with limited out of pocket expense to the best of their ability. If they didn't, you would pay much more or not be able to obtain it.
Hope this helps
A caring therapist- business owner.

Would never recommend to anyone. I had heard many disappointing things about this place, but I had to see it for myself to believe it. My child had an evaluation and it wasn't until 2 weeks after that they called requesting the referral. I took the referral two weeks after they called. A month later I called back to check on the status, I was told that because the referral was not given to them "on a timely manner" I had to pay $115 for the evaluation. After contacting my insurance I was told that the claim was denied because they never received an authorization request. Kids SPOT failed to request an authorization before doing the evaluation, therefore; the insurance denied the claim. It had nothing to do with the referral, they should have never done the evaluation without the authorization from the insurance. They are now charging me $115 plus the $50 I already paid for co-pay. This place is garbage.

Horrible production system. They're like fast-food service for the kids, the therapist would be checking the clock at every therapy because it's crowded so they go by the clock, not by the child's or mom's needs; they could care less about the people. I'll never bring my daugther back there. There is no way she could've ever had that special bond that needs to exist between the child and their therapist...

It is inhumane the way they treat parents and kids' schedule ways: If you get there any minute late, for whatever reason, they take away 15mins from your child's appt. or they make changes to their convenience with out advising the parent.

It was over all a bad experience, very stressful for me and my infant that needed to rush there with us for her sister's appt. who wasn't engaged into the therapy sessions. I even made a video to ask the Early Steps therapist who comes to our home every week to ask her opinion on what may be the reason my toddler was not interested at all in paying attention there, like she does at home, her comment was: the place is extremely noisy and the way they open the door while in session distracts your child badly...this is about their POMPANO BEACH LOCATION.

DON'T RECOMMEND

That other review definitely sounds like it was written by the owners themselves, I couldn't disagree with it more. First off, they try to charge you a copayment even if you have a $0 copay with your insurance company, they only fixed it after arguing with then that i verified with my insurance that i indeed have no copay. I can only imagine how much money they've wrongfully took from patients who just don't know. Secondly, my child needs both speech and occupational therapy. His speech therapy evaluation was done elsewhere so he started his speech therapy right away. I was under the impression he'd be seeing a speech therapist, but it was actually a speech therapy assistant, which is misleading. I should have been informed of that. Her name is Rose, she was very sweet, but unfortunately the other staff wasn't as professional as her. Same thing with OT, it was an assistant doing his evaluation, her name was Magdelena Soltyk (Maggie). I feel as if she rushed through my son's evaluation, i understand the appointment was a 30 minute time frame but for evals maybe you should set aside a little extra time. She was not caring like I'd expect from a therapist, I'd even go as far as to say she was a bit cold. It's been a month since this evaluation was done. Needless to say I'm not taking my child here for therapy, and need a copy of the evaluation to take him somewhere else, insurance only covers one evaluation every six months. The evaluation report is still not completed. Another complaint is that for one of the speech therapy sessions, the therapist called out sick, and they called to let me know only a few minutes before the appointment, i was almost there, they could not put him with another therapist. However if a patient has to cancel an appt on short notice, they threaten not to see the child anymore, even if the kid is sick. Must be why the waiting room is always full of sick children. Ever since started coming here, my kids started getting sick!! Myself sick as well. It's obvious the parents that bring their kids here don't have very high standards, they seem very sloppy themselves. I'm a stay at home mother of two very young kids, but at least when I'm out in public i manage to put on some decent clothes and comb my hair and have my kids semi presentable. The clientele of this facility is your typical public assistance dependant unemployed ghetto type people who bring their kids here because Medicaid pays for it all. Sorry for the harshness, just thought i should paint a vivid picture of this place.

The owners are hands on. From...

The owners are hands on. From the initial evaluation and throughout treatment, the owners, annie and kristina are there. The sensory learning program they offer changed my toddler forever, it's like boot camp for sensory integration, a jumpstart , I would recommend it to any child with sensory issues . . .my daughter hadn't picked up a spoon or fork in almost 10 months, after two weeks she was using a spoon to eat yogurt, now she she eats with adult utensils 2 1/2 months after sensory. . . I can't say enough about this clinic. While they do see A LOT of kids and sometimes the scheduling can be a bit overwhelming,, you can't find better educated or better intentioned therapists. I am a single mom of a toddler diagnosed with autism and I was 100% alone in this when I began. Completely afraid of the diagnosis and process. KIDS SPOT gave me the knowledge and support I needed to be a better and more patient parent. There is a heart to this clinic that you just can't get anywhere else. And they don't stop researching and reaching out for their patients, way beyond their obligations. . they gave my daughter her best shot. I am forever grateful for that.
