We have used AKZ before for its "hotel" services. We have left our dogs with the company while we went away for the weekend. This past weekend, we returned from a relaxing trip away to pick up our pet only to find her INFESTED WITH TICKS! She was covered in them. There must have been at least a hundred on her. She has very short fur and the ticks attached themselves all over her legs, stomach, and ears. I thought they were tiny scabs from flea bites but my husband recognized them as ticks. We had to immediately bathe her when we got home and apply medication. She is full of little bite marks. We will NEVER use this company again. The only employe there did not want to take responsibility for her condition and the owner was not contacted about it. She was only contacted prior to haggle price as she quoted one price at drop off time and then asked for a much higher price at pick-up. Shows the company's priorities, doesn't it? In the past, this place has always come with a bit of confusion on the part of the owner when quoting a price for their services- she tells one price at the beginning and then comes up with a higher price at the end. It has lead to some lengthy discussions and explanations at pick-up time when all we want is to pick up our dog at the price decided upon at drop-off and go home.
