Armed with an Industrial Engineering degree (and a minor in math) from Mississippi State University, I started work in the defense industry mostly for the US Army Missile Command at Redstone Arsenal, AL. In 1989, off to Chicago in 1989 to work in the commodities futures markets. I was the live hogs analyst for Refco during this time. Refco has since gone bankrupt over corruption, but at the time was the world's largest futures commission merchant. This largess in turn made me and all of their other markets analysts the mostly widely read in the world. I was a member of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange for 2 or 3 years until 11/93 when I had to return to Byhalia to take over my deceased father's LP Gas business.
