The drinking water stinks due to the fact that the city does not flush the water lines as required by the T.C.E.Q because if they do they will have to move into the next pay bracket when they purchase the water from the Gulf Coast Water authority. Also the streets in the city are in horrible condition except of coarse for the mayor Anthony Matranga's street. The roads that have been paved belong to the county. The sewer plant is poluting the bay due to the mayor anthony matranga allowing republic waste to dump (leachate) or water run off from the landfills into the sewer system for profit against the operators suggestions and opinion. also the crime rate is high due to all the illegal gambling rooms in the city which the city recieves a permit fee for each slot machine. finally the houses they show on there home page are from a private gated community on the outskirts of town. the real city consists of falling down low income housing with pit bulls chained up in the front yard. So if you want to move to a polluted, run down, politically corrupt town were you have to buy your drinking water at the store. However if you take away the mayor and the city counsil which have been the same for over 10 to 15 years, then the city might be able to be a great place to live but until then greed will continue to drive the city into the ground. thank you
