Well the person that wanted their driver to come to a mechanic shop and change a starter why did you not just let him do it to start with? The rest of the story is that the customer brought a USED starter to be put on. Pike diesel installed the used starter and it did not work. The customer wanted the old starter put back on and that is what we did. Now why should I put it back on for nothing? I did not buy a USED starter that did not work. Pike diesel is in the business of repairing trucks. If we change the starter twice you get charged twice. We go by flat rate time as a standard as most shops do. If the book says it takes 2.8 hours to do a job that is what you are charged most of the time. A lot of the jobs we do has a set price. There is the whole story. Thanks to all of my hundreds of satisfied customers!

Not very happy with this company. Took our truck there to get a starter replaced and turned out to be almost a $1000.00 fiasco. Most shops and mechanics will work with you to get things fixed but this company does NOT. In the end I had no choice but to allow them to work on it as they would not allow my driver to come up there and put the starter on. Sorry our company does not allow anyone to do any KIND of work on our yard. Meaning basically you're going to pay what we want you to pay and we're doing the work. A 30 min job to replace the starter turned out to take them 3 hours. Tell me there isn't something wrong with their time management skills. Seriously if you have issue's with your rig don't take to this place.
