Looks can be deceiving! We were fooled by the appeal of Monthaven and the leasing consultants who claimed to never having any problems in the complex. During our one year tenure our safety & security were threatened due to a shooting, a stabbing, multiple assaults, multiple thefts from vehicles, and a search of the premises for a suspected murder weapon. We experienced two evacuations due to fire alarms; one was false (fire alarm pulled as prank) and the other was a domestic dispute between boyfriend/girlfriend...angry girlfriend threw a lit cigarette into a pile of clothes. We became accustomed to the presence of Hendersonville Police Department in the complex. We also had the same experience as other reviewers regarding maintenance. On two occasions maintenance barged into our apartment after one knock. They never announced themselves as maintenance, nor did we have maintenance scheduled to come to our apartment. It is evident that the Management of Monthaven focuses more on the quantity rather than the quality of residents in Monthaven. I'd strongly discourage anyone from moving to the Monthaven Park Apartments in Hendersonville.

I lived here for 10 months, and occupied my apartment 2 weeks out of every month. I did not have a washing machine in my apartment, and my monthly water bill averaged $85.00. My neighbors only paid $57.00 one month, and they had a washer; my bill that month was $87.00. I moved out on 5/1 and did not occupy the apartment after that date, but paid the last two months on my lease to avoid extra fees and to make sure I got my deposit returned. When I went through my final inspection, all was good and I was expecting to get my deposit returned. Instead I got hit with a $180.00 bill, $160.00 of this was for water, the rest for pest control and garbage. Utterly ridiculous! The management claimed that water usage was averaged out amongst all the tenants, yet that claim is false based on the discrepancy between my bill and my neighbor's bill. This complex has also had a rash of illegal activity recently, including muggings and a person renting a unit for the purpose of having an illegal gambling operation. Also, if you decide to continue your lease beyond 1 year, they will increase your base rent by $300.00. STAY AWAY!!

I hope by the time you have looked over this review you have not moved into monthaven apartments in Hendersonville TN. The first day we moved in the staff gave us a chance to look over the apartment and submit possible problems. For the most part, the first day was great!, besides the fact we had paid hundreds more a month to move in a newly renovated apartment and they tried to put us in a standard with no new fixtures! They fixed it except for the fact we had our cable, internet, and electricity already hooked up at the wrongly set up lower cost apartment. We eventually were put in the right apartment found a few small problems and within 5 minutes the monthaven handyman was sent out and fixed it. We thought great we have actually found the right place for us, but we had no idea that would had actually moved into the worst place we had ever lived in all 28 years of our experience with rentals. We went down to check for mail after living there for a few days and come to find out there is no door on our mailbox at all and monthaven was completely aware with no intention on fixing the door. Instead they moved our mailbox number 6 rows or about fifteen feet away from where it should actually be. We then proceeded to call the post office and explain the situation in which they said they would try their best to put the mail in the right place but monthaven should fix the door because problems will arise. We have been here for almost three years and the door is still not fixed!!! We asked why they couldn't at least get them fixed within the next 6 months and they said its not in their budget.... The beginning of the year comes and they spend tens of thousands of dollars repaving the parking lots without even a thought of first fixing the mailbox doors which most people would think would be a first priority!!! Oh and one more thing we make calls to maintenance maybe once a year where it takes at least two weeks for them to even come in to look at the problems. So if you are possibly thinking of moving into monthaven I would definitely run for your life!!! They are playing a bait and switch game... they get you hooked and basically leave you hanging there to dry!!! Monthaven Apartments are severely overpriced each year you resign your lease be prepared for the rent to go up at least a hundred to two hundred dollars a year no joke if you don't believe me write a comment giving me a way to contact you and I will show you proof. These apartments are by far the biggest mistake I have made in my life! My lease ends in 3 months and I most definitely will be getting as far away from this "LUXURY APARTMENT SETTING" LMAO as possible. I beg you do not make the same mistake as me or as over ten other couples here have, I can direct you to some great places I have already looked into and read the reviews about. Good Luck if you have already signed with them hopefully its a short lease.
