I am absolutely appalled at the treatment I received at my visit to the Hendersonville, TN office. When scheduling, I made sure to state multiple times that my son and I needed cleanings. The person who made our appointments said that there would be no problem with that. I reiterated that ample time needed to be scheduled for our appointments because this was the only day that I could come in. I was reassured that there would be no problems at all.
Day of appointments comes, and my son goes first. They took his X-rays and did his cleaning. While doing his cleaning, they told me that the SDF treatment that our previous dentist did to stop a cavity âÂÂwas nothing they had ever heard of and couldnâÂÂt have possibly been right.â I was skeptical about them at this point because they just informed me that they are not up to date on current dental practices.
They then took me to take my X-rays. It took longer than usual for my X-rays to be completed, but I chalked this up to the technician being new (she told me it was her first day there). I was then sent back to the dental area where I waited for the dentist. She comes in, reeking of cigarette smoke, and tells me BEFORE EVEN LOOKING IN MY MOUTH that I would need multiple crowns and fillings. She then looks in my mouth and tries to convince me that everything was wrong with my mouth.
She then left and they did the probe to check if gumlines are receding. Now, I admit, I only floss about once a week. She then shoved the probe into a part of my gum, which of course bled because that probe is SHARP. She then tells the technician to write that I have gingivitis.
After she got through with the probe, I was left in the dental area for over 20 minutes without seeing anyone. Then someone from up front comes and tries to hand me a bill for over $1600 plus billing my insurance for over $1200! She tries to strongarm me into paying for everything upfront when I 1) hadnâÂÂt agreed to anything except for a cleaning which had yet to be completed 2) I didnâÂÂt have that kind of money at the time 3) not one dentist I had ever been to had mentioned ANY of the things they were trying to scare me into paying for.
I was getting frustrated at this point, because my son was ready to go home and take his nap. I told them I had only scheduled the cleanings and that was all we were going to be doing that day. They then had the audacity to tell me that they would not clean my teeth because âÂÂwe are going to lunchâÂÂ! I had specifically stated to them when scheduling that I needed to ensure that there was ample time to do the cleanings! They had reassured me that there would be.
I am done going to Castle Dental and have been letting everyone know my experience and how poorly I was treated. I have let everyone know that when you walk through the doors, you will not be treated like a person, but instead like a walking money bag! They will try to scam you out of all kinds of money and use terrible scare tactics to force you into agreeing to treatments that arenâÂÂt even needed.
