Roosevelt Elementary School, located in Hawthorne, N.J., and established in 1921, is a public school that provides academic education to students in kindergarten through grade five. The school enrolls more than 600 students and is a part of the Hawthorne Public Schools District. The school provides basic education in English, math, science and social studies, and foreign languages with a choice in Spanish and Italian. Additionally, the school provides various extracurricular activities, such as arts, dance, and vocal and instrumental music. The school has a library that provides literary sources, encyclopedias, magazines and newspapers, and access to the Internet. The school additionally provides music and speech therapies, and offers parent-teacher organization. Roosevelt Elementary School provides physical education and encourages its students to participate in sports activities.
