Great Lakes Energy Partners is an independent oil and gas company engaged in development, exploration and acquisition of properties in the Appalachian Basin. The company has a diversified asset base with five key areas of operational focus. The majority of Great Lakes' production comes from two shallow development plays targeting the Clinton Medina and Upper Devonian Sandstone groups. To a lesser extent, the company is drilling medium-to-deep exploitation plays, targeting higher risk, higher impact reserves in the Knox Unconformity/Rose Run, Huntersville/Oriskany and the Trenton Black River intervals. Great Lakes focuses on consistent and predictable growth and profitability by active development of existing fields and exploitation of deeper formations. At December 31, 2004, Great Lakes had proved reserves of approximately 545.5 Bcfe, with an average reserve life of 19 years. The company owns interests in 9,300 oil and gas wells and has a leasehold position of over $1 million net-acres containing nearly 2,000 proved drilling locations.
