We had a great experience buying our Impreza at Bertera Subaru. In our search, we visited or called every Subaru dealer in Connecticut (not an exaggeration), and Bertera was the most professional. Guy (the salesman) and Oneil (the manager) were both helpful, easy to talk to, and quick to communicate with us, without being too pushy. They gave us an outstanding deal on the car, and when there were a few minor delays getting the car ready, Guy promptly let me know and offered alternatives. Would definitely recommend them!

One caveat: While we were signing the paperwork, the finance manager surprised me (a first-time car buyer) by offering lots of optional extras—a prepaid maintenance plan, Simonizing, etc. I was caught off guard and wish I'd done my research beforehand, though I'm sure that's all standard procedure at any dealership.

I was promised a bumper would be replaced- a commitment which encouraged me to make the trip for vehicle. This promise was broken prior to sale. I was informed the bumper was cosmetic damage and that they can be purchased pre-painted. Neither statement is true. Finally, I was assured Bertera would replace support beam. But after much wasted time commuting to and communicating with Bertera, I was forced to cut my losses. Given my frustrating experience.



I would not recommend this dealership to anyone looking for a safe automobile. It’s clear they failed to perform a safety inspection on vehicle and do not honor their promises or commitments.

Bertera motors- Please DO NOT attempt to defend your dealership. Reviews speak for themselves. Instead of playing the defense, please spare future customers from my experience.

I have no problem with Bertera so far. The only thing is that I forgot the coupon that they emailed me and the service guy wouldn't give me a discount or have another coupon.

Such a great place to buy a car! As soon as I got on the lot, I could tell they had a wide range of cars to choose from, and found the perfect car for me. The sales staff is super friendly and never pressured me into anything. I'll surely go back to Bertera Subaru for my service and for anything else!

Easily my BEST car buying expe...

Easily my BEST car buying experience! The salesman listened to what I wanted, showed me a couple cars, and I found the perfect car for me. After that, they helped me with all my paperwork and insurance issues. They were very professional, yet very polite and nice. I recommend Bertera Subaru of Hartford to anyone!

Below is what I repeatedly tried posting about these a**holes on dealerrater.



I don't know how, but they keep removing it. So I'm posting it here. I was shopping through truecar.com, and received a fairly good quote from these guys. Sid Farahani handles the internet sales, and sent frequent reminders e-mails about various benefits of Bertera, the typical advertising stuff. His price was a bit higher than others, but I thought this price difference was negligible because they're much closer. I finally agreed to buy a car, and gave them a credit card number for a deposit. All communication immediately stopped, they wouldn't even send me anything in writing describing how much I'm paying, and what I'm getting. I called several times to speak to other people, and was assured everything possible will be done ASAP, and other BS. When they finally sent it (a full 5 working days later), they added a mysterious $400 charge that was never mentioned before. But wait, it gets better! After I refused to pay it and asked for my money back, they tried to negotiate that fee down to $250 and it also became clear that they lost my credit card information, because they never even took out the deposit for the car I supposedly ordered. I ended up buying a car with better options (exactly the ones I wanted) from Manchester Subaru in New Hampshire for $600 less (they deliver to CT), and that was a much smoother transaction.



Note - the "free tires for life" program at this dealership sounds good on the surface, but it requires that you do ALL your service through them. It'll be cheaper to just buy the tires.



Sleazy techniques, not a recommended dealer. Take a look at the BBB rating, it speaks the truth.
