I've been eating at Vito's for a few years now and it has always been a pleasant experience, plain and simple. The food has always been worth the price, but I keep coming back because of the service; there is such a welcoming atmosphere at Vito's and the staff treat you like family.

We have driven to Vito's from Staunton many times because they have the best gluten-free pizza. Today we were very very disappointed. Our server was horrible. He was slow, He had to be told the order three times before he understood that I had ordered the gluten-free pizza. We also ordered a salad to hold us until our pizzas arrived. Our waiter was more interested in cleaning menus than waiting on us. After waiting a half hour for drink refills and our salad, my husband went to the hostess and asked for another server. She said, "of course" and then proceeded to hunt down our waiter. He asked if we wanted refills. I mentioned it would be nice if he could bring our salad. He argued with us that we did not order a salad. We made him look at his order pad, at which point he said he would bring us a salad. My husband told him not to bother just bring us our pizzas in boxes we were leaving. The hostess came over with our pizzas and offered to not charge us, We made it clear that we were upset because she said she would give us another server and then sent the same person back who then argued with us about whether we ordered a salad. She said it was her policy not to change servers. We told her, "then that is what you should have told us. Please get us our bill so we can leave." She refused and walked away, which is when we walked away leaving the pizza. We pay for what we order. We will not be back. I do not go out to dinner to have an argument. We just wanted a nice meal. I hope they enjoy their clean menus because they cost them a good customer.

called an order in for small calzone... price was high but I thought maybe the size & quallity of it might justify.. when i got home and opened the box, this tiny item sat inside a huge box.. the cheese was powdery tasting.. asked other family member to try.. it was awful.. called and spoke to owner.. he wanted me to bring it in..10 miles away. told him to just go taste the rocotta he was serving.. won't go back

Do not cometo Vitos expecting to be given your everyday fare of frozen food reheated...this special place features made-from-scratch food that will have you drooling while it is cooking just from the aroma! They endured our table of six with two YOUNG grandsons and multiple spills with a great attitude and the service was without compare. If you leave hungry it is your fault! They kept the bread rolls coming and we never had to ask for anything. Every table there lingered to catch the last bit of food and ambiance. It is our new "go to" place when we come to the mountains and stay at Massanutten.

My family and I planned a graduation celebration for what we thought would be a part of 7. The staff there had the table set up for us when we arrived and were congenial and courteous at the door. When additional family members showed up unexpectedly they (L'italia staff) immediately adjusted the seating arrangements to accommodate us and were happy to do so. Our server was Bree and she did a wonderful job. The food was excellent and delivered hot and absolutely correctly. I highly recommend this restaurant for any occasion.
