Alternative Rehabilitation Communities is a private nonprofit corporation, authorized by the Department of Public Welfare and the Department of Education to render rehabilitation and educational service to juveniles and their families. It provides a variety of services, ranging from intake and assessment to secure-for-court adjudicated youth. These programs teach students to make good decisions in order to become responsible citizens. The process ARC teaches is to maintain a positive attitude, respect for the individual, and courage to accept challenges while keeping goals in focus. Alternative Rehabilitation Communities offers several programs in Pennsylvania and has its administrative office in Harrisburg, Pa.
